Phantasy Star Online

shenmue and seaman alike are great options, but they are not the first mmo for consoles

NFL 2k2

Just picked the last game of the series on this system, but when this series first launched it opened eyes on how realistic games could look that was unique to the industry. This console series was also successfully going online in a time Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo were not yet.

Soul Calibur.

It freaking blew my mind when I walked into a game store and saw it playing 1 for 1 identical to the arcades. That had never really happened before for a contemporary game without some expensive hardware backing it, and even then they were 2D games. $200 for hardware that plays arcade perfect ports? Sign me up. It might not actually be the most technically impressive, but it left one hell of an impression on me.
