For real though, it was once again this show going against my expectations. I'd always been prepared for the reveal of what exactly caused Momoka to leave, with the obvious assumption that there was an actual direct cause of the fallout on the other member's party, or that she was replaced. I did not expect her to just come out and say that it was her fault for going against the original goal of the band and betraying their dream (though I doubt DD themselves see it this way), and that not only was there no crucial event, they desperately wanted her to stay. All of that restraint to not say what happened was because she's already come to accept her own fault before the show even started, again bringing it home to ther small but noteable galmin age.
It's a good move to give the other conflict room to stand out, with Nina actually having a sudden, unexpected level of animosity towards Diamond Dust. Irrational to everyone but her, obviously due to an extreme source of animosity towards her former classmate that hasn't fully been revealed yet, all leading to the excellent bar scene fight (very nice touch having Nina's neighbor be the waitress here).
The show just feels so real. I'm actually about worried about the true introduction of the final 2 members next week, and how it might effect the dynamics. I have faith though, it hasn't given me any reason to doubt.
