Absolutely wild stuff going on in Tonari no Youkai.
The completely casual everyday world holding stuff was nice, and I've been appreciating the show don't tell philosophy, and would have been totally fine with just an SoL in this setting. However, it's going down a strong main plotline that's specifically taking full advantage of just how casual/exposition free the narrative has been so far, and I'm very excited to see where it goes.
Highly recommend A Centaur's Life (anime or manga) if you like this. I absolutely adore every bit of it, and one of the cool things about it is how you can be enjoying slice of life stuff, then get a chapter on genocide or crazy sci-fi shit.
