Yes. It's complicated with how the St. Croixs powers interact with each other, but Penance is the ruby-red girl with sharp hair and fingers in Generation X while M is the super confident intelligent powerful flying cool person.
Except Penance is really a trapped Monet St. Croix, and M is Monet's two missing younger twin sisters in one body. And at one point M becomes M-Plate, and... it's all confusing, and I don't fully understand, and their everything needs a fully dedicated Jay & Miles episode on them.
