Boy what a mess this is. Since I'm on my phone I don't really have the ability to explain why to the uninformed, but if you know you know.

Grand Final starts in an hour. I wonder how awkward it will be.

I assumed nobody had made a Eurovision topic yet because, after the last 24 hours, there is absolutely no way it would survive without being deleted for politics.

Yeah it's probably hard to talk about this year without skirting the line with politics, but saying people are incredibly divided on Israel's participation is objective, not political. I just wouldn't air personal grievances about it.

Luckily (?) the Netherlands DQ seems to have nothing to do with Israel so that should be fair game for discussion. The decision sounds entirely disproportionate to what seemingly happened. The EBU has botched this situation the entire way.

It's not just the Israel thing! They have been confiscating everyone's LGBT+ flags in the audience stating no politics allowed. Looks like Fandom runs Eurovision now too.

Ukraine were very good. Luxembourgs lady looks like a Street Fighter character.

Ireland got criticism in commentary from the Israeli broadcaster that supposedly breaches EBU rules and complained but was ignored. Also, nobody knows why but they missed the dress rehearsal and flag ceremony due to an urgent situation but not clear what that was.

Supposedly Israeli Ambassadors have been calling citizens in their respective countries telling them to vote. This was deemed against the rules in years prior but no action appears to have been taken this time.

The Italian (I think) audience votes were also accidentally shown on screen earlier, and appear to be extremely sketchy.

The semi finals are audience vote only. It'll be interesting to see how the juries vote.

First time watching, Germany and Norway were my favourites! Would also be happy with Luxembourg, Ireland, Cyprus, Austria, and even Finland for the redemption win and making me laugh. No way I'm paying that $1 per vote though!
