iirc like 2 or 3 more are planned. Any of you think these are 2 of cameron's best movies?
Fun fact, I learned that there were Humans in this series just last year lol
Not sure how I never knew that before but here we are.
I'd Rather Be A Savage Little Elephant, than be a big Bald Bull

I saw 1 and thought it was long and boring.

I haven't seen 2.
Thought 1 was decent enough

2 was great

2 had bad acting and bored me to tears for most of the middle like...two hours, and if the 3rd has a runtime of 150m+ I probably won't go to see it in cinema

I don't remember 1 as much, but I remember enjoying it when I saw it
Not to be confused with XIII_Minerals.
Avatar 2 by a hair I guess, both really mediocre and Avatar 2 drags in the middle
I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.

It's tempting to linger in this moment, while every possibility still exists. But unless collapsed by an observer, they will never be more than possibilities.
1 was a good 3D experience, but after it went to televisions and such it was a weak movie.

You guys like Cameron's other movies?
Titanic was easy to hate on at the time but is fine really. Never watched his other stuff.

You've never seen the first two Terminators? You should remedy this pronto.

I don't remember any of the characters names
Don't mind me. I'm just here for the contest.
Both are just there to look pretty and I think 2 looks prettier, so that one.

1 was alright but basically a cinematic tech demo. 2 was pretty good I thought. Very much too long but actually has some interesting story and characters to it.
I just decided to change this sig.
Blaaaaaaargh azuarc
Liked the first one a lot but haven't seen the second. In fairness James Cameron is my favorite filmmaker.

1 was okay. it did not inspire me to see 2.
New name, new gender, same great Bolo flavor!
She is messy, but she's kind; she is lonely, most of the time
Anecdotal at best but I feel like you rarely see people going around talking about how good the Avatar movies are and yet they make bank. Not entirely unreasonable but downright surreal in today's geek movie landscape. Like, most of the YouTubers I primarily follow for film-related commentary didn't like The Way of Water but they did like The Flash and the new Indiana Jones movie. Yet look which one was a smash hit and which two were big bombs.

It's because the Avatar movies are more popular with the non-nerdy crowd. They're like, fine, but people that watch a lot of movies, play a lot of video games, etc have seen the plots and spectacle before so they're not that impressive to them.

People that haven't absolutely LOVE the movies because the presentation draws them in more. I have several older relatives that like, primarily watch game shows, reality TV, and/or non-fiction that absolutely love Avatar and have rewatched each like 3-4 times when they NEVER do that for anything.
I'll straight up admit a big reason why I liked the first one is because it wasn't (at least nominally anyways) a remake or sequel.

On the flip side, it's not like there haven't been plenty of other big movies that became smash hits (and even were critically acclaimed in many instances) that didn't become largely forgotten and/or become frequently mocked/trashed since. I'll not name names for now because people probably know examples.

Also on the topic of James Cameron (since he co-wrote and co-produced it), I saw "Alita: Battle Angel" for the first time this past week on the recommendation of my brother. If you want to know what I thought of it, feel free to ask.
