Very good winner! Harakiri is great and anyone that didn't get around to it should really check it out, especially thr last around 20 minutes

Thanks for hosting Exdeath!

This was a lot of fun to follow along! Very interesting list and I'm sorry I didn't have time to participate after seeing some of these write ups.

Whats your #1?
It's like paying for bubble wrap. -transience on Final Fantasy: All the Bravest
Glad I finally got around to these classics, the more I see from Kurosawa the more I think he's one of the best.

I never use letterboxd so I'm surprised Harakiri is the highest-rated movie on there. I guess it just has the perfect balance of accessibility and artistry

This is only the third I've seen from Kurosawa after Rashomon and Seven Samurai, but absolutely agreed, the three I've seen have all been excellent. Ikiru is my least favorite of the three, but only because the other two are so damn good

Who/what is next?
Next up is Crime 2, I'll throw up the topic probably some time this weekend. After that I think is Inviso with "So Bad It's Good" movies (so the exact opposite of art films) but I'll open up discussion in the topic of who wants to host what; a lot of ideas were thrown out in the last topic but I don't know who all's committing to what

Thanks for an excellent topic, I really enjoyed reading along.
Final Scoreboard
1. Johnbobb: 10 (Ordet, The Holy Mountain, Tokyo Story, Persona, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Eraserhead, Aguirre, Synecdoche, Amlie, Ikiru)
2. Karo: 9 (The Holy Mountain, Jeanne Dielman, Tokyo Story, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Battle of Algiers, Eraserhead, Aguirre, Synecdoche, The Grand Budapest Hotel)
3. PunishedJeezy: 8 (The Conformist, The Holy Mountain, Jeanne Dielman, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Eraserhead, Synecdoche, Amlie, Citizen Kane)
4. Inviso: 6 (The Holy Mountain, The Battle of Algiers, Eraserhead, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Amlie, Citizen Kane)
5. Seginus: 4 (Persona, The Battle of Algiers, Amlie, Citizen Kane, Ikiru)
6. Sergiocornaga: 3 (Amlie, Citizen Kane, Ikiru)
7. LightningStrikes: 1 (The Holy Mountain)

Congrats to Johnbobb, who clutches out first place by correctly predicting that Ikiru is second and finishes having called one third of the eliminations. While Karo is the truest art snob here, it must be satisfying to know that you're the best at understanding how an art snob thinks.

btw I've been keeping a list of my rankings for all the film lists I've participated in on B8, combined into one, so I thought I'd post that now if anyone is curious to see it:

I made a list of 1000 favorite films a few years ago and a lot of these would be on that as well. Though I don't know if I could number them all the way to 1000 like that. I tried cutting that down to a list of 100 favorite films like a year ago and it was really difficult.

Though The Rules of the Game would also be up there in like a top 5 or top 10 for me.
