Join a guild and do some adventuring. Meet with the Hero's party. Join them to kill the Demon King. With the world saved, settle down to start a family. Become a researcher as a hobby, funding your lifestyle with riches from being a world-saving celebrity. Start an Inn as a side project.

Uh...and become a villainess somehow. There, that's all of them in one life.

Watched Mononoke: Phantom in the Rain . Goddamn that was beautiful. Definitely one of the prettiest anime of all time, if not the prettiest. Absolutely loved it in general. Very cool how it mostly uses visual storytelling, but still has some fun twists and turns with the characters. It's remarkable that we got a sequel over 15 years later and I still love it as much as the original series. Eagerly anticipating the next two series.

Kinda remarkable that the best two anime of 2024 (Look Back and Mononoke) were both movies!

I tried watching it, and it was the usual "nerdy guy anime schlock" comedy. Wasn't impressed after 5-10 minutes.

top of my head...

if it's something like Slime's world then having no powers sucks a lot but you can gradually find yourself a skill in the world - see Yuuki.

if i got Subaru/save points then i know i'm fucked. i'm finding that out only after dying and i'm totally on a guided path, this is just plain awful. but i will pick Rem, even if i end up dying and coming back to the true path after.

if it's something like Jobless Reincarnation uh... do i have powers? also depends on what the isekai type is, if i'm like a certain character then once again, i got jack shit for powers and need to work my way up from nothing.

if i do got power, also need to make sure that my power isn't a booby trap. some isekai have that as a choice without the person knowing it. usually ends up being written as side characters who die early.

do kinda hope it's one of those where i can pick skills off a board. i like those a good amount.

Dang...Pluto just keeps getting better. They seriously got Keith David for this? Damn. Still sounds as great as he ever did. Cam Clarke also turned back the clock and played on hell of a bad guy...if only for 5 minutes.

Been holding back on an incredible urge to make a Steins;Gate topic, just don't have the time to type it up only for it to fall off page 1 fast but that's probably what I get for being consumed with content that's 10-15 years old. When i watched the original anime series I liked it well enough but over the past month, playing the Steins;Gate 0 visual novel, then watching the SG0 anime, then playing the original VN and rewatching the anime, damn. Something changed between the original anime viewing and experiencing all this other content, I fell so much more in love with the world and the characters then on the original series viewing? I've never had something hit such a chord with me even moreso on a 2nd viewing relative to the first.

So because I was obsessed I went and bought and beat the side-story game "Linear Bounded Phenogram" which while it had some misses in its stories really hit in so many others. And bought the friggin' dating sim game because why not, lol. Linear Bounded Phenogram also came (mandatorily) bundled with Steins;Gate Elite which, while all the scuttlebutt is that it's inferior to the original VN (and I looked up a few moments to see how it handled them and they definitely were all downgrades), I'll probably play that too, sooner than later, since the reboot game is set to come out this year.

AND I'm also currently hunting down the reams of Audio CD side-content they put out in the early '10s following the VN, it's a crime they didn't give them the LBP treatment, they could easily make a game or two, or several OVAs, out of all of the sidestory, backstory, 'what if'-scenario timelines the concept of the S;G world provides. Thankful for the people out there gracious enough to throw on english subs and put it on youtube, in some cases they took it on themselves to Visual Novel-ize it w/ artwork from the games, it's pretty good. Also got some Suzuha and Mr. Braun manga I need to read.

Ok ideally got the S;G ranting out of my system there.

.......and now I just want more people to watch a 15 year old anime series, need to get more people on board, damn!

I just watched it for the first time in 2024.

I didn't really like it. Maybe if I tried all those other things it would help but I don't really have any interest in doing that.

There are reviews coming out for the Gundam GCucks movie, which is the first 4 episodes of the show. Avoid them if you don't want spoilers, because it turns out even the CONCEPT of what this show is spoils soooo much about it we didn't know.

I just dove in (it's just 4 episodes so I said fuck it) and I am......VERY excited for this show!

completely separate thought - what did people think of blade of the immortal? specifically the manga and the 2020 adaptation? been watching it a bit on amazon and it's hilariously sparse, though i do remember the manga really dragging at points so maybe that's a good thing for when we get to some of the more interminable/painful arcs

Castlevania Nocturne 2 and Pluto done. Castlevania continues its streak of solid storytelling and character drama while both adhering to yet branching off the lore. They also managed to stop saying fuck in inopportune times so much...maybe just once an episode.

Pluto was a freaking gem. It had the same intense feel throughout, and even with an ensemble cast, I was invested in everyone's struggles. I don't think the end game bad guys were all that special. However, it was more about what their bad shit was doing to the protagonists' psyches that told the story.

Sakamoto Days ep 2 keeps up the momentum. Nice intro ep for Xiaotang if nothing else. Zenshu ep 3 next.

Update: And Zenshu still great. Hilarious animation this week. Made me chuckle so much, given my fandom for both anime and professional wrestling.
