I'm 12 hours in. It's a slow burn, and the combat is definitely an afterthought (I've gotten into a grand total of three short encounters) but the writing + atmosphere are very good, and that's what matters for this sort of game.

Yeah this is just getting better as it goes along

oooh sounds good

Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see
Hmmm tag
If you wake up at a different time, in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?

There has in fact been some more combat! Not much, and most of it was optional. Still isn't a highlight, but its infrequent enough to make for a nice change of pace.

If I had to pick one word to describe this game, it would be 'methodical'. Nothing is rushed, and everything is given appropriate time to simmer. It makes small actions feel impactful and the story progression feel natural.

The writing and atmosphere are consistently fantastic.

There's a lot of small details I want to gush about but they're better left as surprises for a first time player.

The challenge of recommending a narrative-heavy game.

This game strikes a nice balance between getting to shape your protagonist's personality, while also having them be their own character. My own protagonist has genuinely surprised me on more than one occasion.

On vacation and can't continue this just yet, but its been on my mind.

Finally had more time to play. Game beated. Got all three endings.

Overall, a very fun experience. Definitely started to show its indie-ness with some wonky late game progression, but the big moments more than made up for it. It absolutely fulfills the fantasy and vibe of being a necromancer in pretty much every way. Writing stayed continuously stellar throughout the entire game. I think it ended at a good time (a.k.a. before I got tired of it) but I'm a little sad to be done with it, which is the sweet spot you want for thinking fondly of a game.
