What's the most likely way a Chrono Trigger remake/modern port gets announced?

Another Nintendo Direct with no announcement of anything Chrono Trigger related makes me wonder... if we ever do get that wonderful, glorious, magical announcement, how would it come? Pick the best option from the above choices.

Or if we're cooked and we never get it, there's an option for that too :(

they'll definitely port it/re-release it again someday

will they remake it or significantly remaster it? maybe not

Feels like an HD-2D remake is inevitable at some point, and it'll be big enough to be saved for a full Nintendo Direct.
