10/10 - Some of the optional stuff is a bit too much with how many moons there are, but this is absolutely the best Mario game to me and its not even close despite the fact Id also probably give Galaxy 1 a 10 too

One of the best Mario games. I liked the free form style and also the in game help they gave for some of the moons, so you really mostly didn't need to use outside help to complete things.

Some of the kingdoms are a miss and I think the soundtrack is uncharacteristically weak for Mario, but the game is great.

Very good platformer. Might fall off a bit towards the end--I still think Sand Kingdom is the best one.

The best parts are absolutely wonderful, memorable, and a truly perfect example of what gaming can and should be. There are one or two filler kingdoms that don't really add anything to the game (I forget the details) and, outside of "Jump Up, Super Star" the soundtrack is pretty unmemorable (as said above). Still a blast to play, though.

Maybe I should give this another spin. I wasn't taken with it the first time around (didn't get very far as a result), but the same can be said for Breath of the Wild and I loved it when I went back to it.

I recognize it's a well made game, but it's the only 3D Mario that I never felt I wanted to go back to.
