Last year: 9/42

Squirtle takes the crown as the last Water starter standing for the second year in a row, while Fire was eliminated with Cyndaquil in 20th and Treecko and Rowlet continue to battle for the Grass title.

Fun fact: Croconaw's Japanese name is Alligates and Feraligatr is Ohdile, meaning they flipped which animal their names were derived from. I always thought that was funny. Also tbh I still can't tell crocodiles and alligators apart
