The Mount Rushmore of: Ace Attorney Cases (non-Original Trilogy)

Rules

1. You may vote up to 4 entries that fit the prompt.

Sesame Street is such a weird void in my head. I know I watched it and loved it, but I have absolutely 0 memory of any of it, including the songs.

A close fight for the last spot, which neatly were all songs that have broken past through the Sesame Street barrier and became more immersed in general pop culture.

Reclaimed is 5-DLC. Revolution is 6-5 but its also like two cases so maybe hes only trying to vote for the second half? The actual 6-6/DLC is Turnabout Time Traveler.

I don't get the love for 6-2. It's a fine case but not Rushmore-worthy.

With 6-2 its just the idealised normal case, it does everything right and it leans into the things that Apollo Justice should have. Its a better Apollo Justice case than any of the cases that were actually in that game. If you want a representative of the typical cases of this era its the perfect example. And its a great case too.

As for G2-5 it can represent both itself and G2-4 on the Rushmore. But even on its own it still deserves to be there. Its the culmination of the entire arc and maybe the last case we will see. And its pretty great too. I also like how you lock up a Tory at the end .

Turnabout Revolution is a fantastic shout too. I almost put it on my Rushmore even though I'm still kinda baffled it wasn't split into two.

I don't think 4-1 is a top 4 post-trilogy case or even close to one, but it's easily the best in its game and Hobonix alone was a huge twist (even if AJ ultimately failed to deliver on it well).

Hmmm...Turnabout Trump is a good shout. It's probably the #5 answer here. I just can't quite put it on the Rushmore.

If I'm doing it purely based on quality, 4-1 probably doesn't make it. But AJ definitely shapes a lot of the non-OT and 4-1 is the biggest swing in its favor.

5-6 is the best "normal" case and probably showcases the best of the non-Takumi cases in terms of writing and personality.

A lot of the non-OT is about a reverence for the OT and E2-3 is the best in that regard by adding something substantial to the OT and also having more than just nostalgia for it.

6-5 is a lock.

HMs are G2-3 and 5-2. G2-3 is my pick going purely based on quality but GAA feels a bit of its own thing. 5-2 is another pick for "normal" case - it reinvents Apollo, introduces Blackquill with gusto, and the case is great. Also, 5-2 is the case that made me comfortable with Ace Attorney again. After so many disappointments (especially with Case 2s), 5-2 made me feel relaxed with where the series was heading.

If I gave my full rating, I think it would be something like:
6-5 > G2-3 > 5-6 > E2-3 > 4-1 > G1-3 > 5-5 > G2-5 > 6-3 > E2-5

So yeah, 4-1 almost made it. These are not my case rankings, but specifically Mount Rushmore rankings. Otherwise, I'd have 5-2, G2-2, and E2-1 waaaaaay up there lol
