A Curve song just randomed up in my playlist, and damn, why don't more people know this band?

They aren't even the best band nobody knows with crows in the name, that would be those damn crows.
The Black Crows?

My favourite band no one's ever heard of would be either Catherine Wheel or Electrafixion.

The best band literally no one knows would be The Velvet Stones.

None of the above. They all smack of trying too hard.

My personal course would be a quiet understatement, like, "Somewhat Hotter Than One Might Reasonably Expect".

Doesn't sound too bad, so if it then blows your mouth off, you remember.

Under promise.
Over deliver.

Incredibly dumb and naive point of view, because it literally was damaged.

Attack private jets all you want. In fact, please do. But what the hell did vandalizing Stonehenge accomplish, exactly?
How was it damaged, exactly?

And don't give me lichen, because bullshit.

Are there still a lot of blue voters not voting as a protest?

Here's the thing; next to no one is actually doing that.

A lot of people are/were saying that in order to push an agenda of some sort, but very few are genuinely going to stick to it, and those that do were likely never going to vote anyway.

"Someone vandalised stonehenge!"
"What? That's terrible."
"Yeah, they sprayed it with cornstarch!"
"With... cornstarch?"
"Cornstarch! Unbelievable!"
"Soo... how was stonehenge damaged?"
"Well it wasn't, really. But someone has to pay to clean it up!"
"They can't just wait for the rain?"
"Er... could do, could do..."
"So this was just a fat lot of nothing?"
"... Well..., only when you say it like that!"

I would take that deal.

"Ah, here we are, stepping off the plane on the first day of your second term, into histo-, whoa careful there I almos- OH NO! I tripped into the president coming down the stairs of the plane, bashing his head into every step and snapping his neck at the bottom! What a horrible accident! How monstrous fate, dealing him the unseemly blow at the height of his success! Has happenstance e'er been so cruel? It is to weep!

Oh, and I guess I'm president now."

It's a good thing Republicans are not sharp enough to make the right plays.

They came close here, have Trump endorse Hogan, allow Hogan to refuse the endorsement, gently, have the RNC back him to the hilt anyway.

There obviously aren't enough Magats in Maryland to turn an election, but getting the sane Republicans and them on the same page would at least give them a shot at flipping the seat.

Thank God for Lara Trump. You go girl, rob the RNC blind and collapse their infrastructure. Team Loser is in control!

Unions aren't bad, if they uphold both duties of a union:

  1. Support workers rights and benefits.
  2. Be a guarantor of quality.
That means providing training, and weeding out the bad apples. A properly run union should not have shit employees, or not for very long, anyway.

there were silent movies shot in color like 30-40 years before anything in the OP had been made
Technically true but also... not. Especially not the word, 'shot'.

Some films we released in limited colour achieved via various means, almost all of them post-production, often filters for just one or two colours. Some films had hand painted colour applied directly to the cells, but that was a very limited practice, not for wide release.

So while Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind were not the first colour films, they were the first colour films the majority of people got to see.

Edit: Also, yeah that early stuff was super oversaturated. I'd fire a colour key tech that did that today.

Contrast with They Might Be Giants. I don't know what it means to build a birdhouse in my soul. Or what it means for a well to be electrical.
Birdhouse in Your Soul is sung from the point of view of a blue canary shaped nightlight ("spelled L I T E") "in the outlet by the light switch, who watches over you", that just wants to be loved. Make a place for it in your heart a birdhouse in your soul!

No matter what you do you will regret it, so do what you want to do.

You'll regret being the weird dad.
You'll regret not living authentically.

Humans are creatures that always think the path not taken is the better one, because what could have been will always be perfect in the mind.

So... Do what you want to do.
