Going to have to agree with this, but that's a point
against the roster, not a point in favor of it! When the best thing you've got going on is variants on pokmon that already exist you've got to make MARKED improvements on them to justify their inclusions, and most of these regional formes are more lateral movements than improvements. Here's how I'd break it down:
Improvements:
Claw hammer Slowbro- actually has a bit more going for it over Kanto original. Galarian Forme is the best thing to happen to Slowbro lest we forget the nightmare that is its mega evolution (let's do just that)
Gentleman Weezing- I mean how could you know love this smokestack top hat guy?

...
And that's it.
Qwilfish and Sneasel are pallet- and type-swaps of the original versions so unless they play WAY different than their Johto originals (which I imagine they'd have to at least play a tad different with the typing changes, but I've never played Legends Arceus so I lack the first hand experience to determine that for myself) these are just lateral moves. No updates or marked improvements to their appearances, barely even a physical change at all other than what was made with a paintbrush, and frankly I prefer the originals. Also Weavile is way cooler than Sneasler don't @ me on that- you're just wasting your time. Overqwil is a cool name. That's the best I can give it.
Shadow Cloak Slowking is a marked STEP DOWN from the glory that is the original King and that makes me sad. I want to like it so much, but I just don't vibe with this goober at all.
Taking all that into account, all you're left with is an Arceus-forsaken baby, the most Ultra Beast looking ass thing that is not (yet confirmed to be) an UB, and Toxtricity who, is honestly kind of cool, but can't carry all the weight of the entire generation almost entirely by itself. Just... not a good roster as a whole.
Naw Gen I got this hands down and I'm not even an original game/generation loyalist. FYI the first game I played and beat was Crystal and my favorite game is Black. I'm usually pretty quick to call the first generation's pokmon kinda lackluster, but with certain typings (e.g. Water, Fire, and Bug among a few others) simplicity is best.
