I own guns and support the second amendment, but am also for gun control. I contain multitudes. The funniest thing to me about it is I never see my guns and hardly ever talk about them. There needs to be regulation of some kind, but IDK exactly what that looks like. Limiting gun purchases by mental wellness sounds like a good idea, but I guarantee you one side of the aisle will try claiming that being trans then means you're mentally unwell so they can't buy guns.
I also understand that the constitution is supposed to be amendable for a reason, so if most people think it should be altered, while I may or may not agree with how it is being altered, I guess Id find some solace in it being most people agreeing on the change instead of just one person.
