Wow, did this episode have a different director? Did someone travel forward in time from five years ago to edit this one? Everyone had a voice, everyone had a personality, there were plots and subplots going on, it all didn't feel strictly like strategy-talk even though a lot of it was, challenge & reward time seemed truncated, the camerawork seemed more natural... it was like watching an episode from years ago. It was really, really good. And I am wishing we had more from Alicia in the past several weeks because, due to the heavy Kim editing, it was hard to take Alicia very seriously about being powerful, but you could tell she was just from the way the episode was presented and how the groups were split. And everyone's thinking with everyone. It gave good explanations of how Kim gets things done, but she's not the only one playing the game. Everyone is wheeling and dealing and it's something we haven't seen in forever. It could be in part to Boston Rob's godfathering, Russell being Russell, Nicaragua losing all good players midway, Tocantins teasing us with alliances and dragons and losing them at the merge... Or maybe it's because the people on the jury suck. Troy & Kat's bitter faces, and Michael's attitude, were the worst parts oft he episode. Maybe things are better without them.

Man this episode was a reminder of how much I can love this game.

- Nice soulful, almost Stevie Wonder sample that hooks me every time. There's just a great amount of swag to the song. He's the man, he's letting you know it.

Also, that ">_>" was for you, Bosco. Party Life may have dropped from a higher place initially, but I've also been bumping it steadily back up from sixty. Remembering "The Girl in the Drawing" was still around saved it from the second half, but no other song's gonna help it out from here.

- Not a big fan of electronica. I had no love for the song, nor any hate. It just passed on by. Six listens later, and it's doing marginally better than it had been, but towards the end it just loses me still. The times it catches, though, it's amazing.

- I really like that swing. The problem is that, even though I enjoy it, I always want it to be over two minutes in. It got a very generous early placement ranked against other early placers like Online Songs, Ghost Love Score, and Ancient Stories. I'm actually surprised to see it almost drop out of the Top 50.

- This is much more expected. Initial impressions ran high with a few of your songs, if only because they were so different from the electronic clog that was kicking my ass a few days in. I thank you for that. However, when it came time to shuffle around, two things were certain:
- Kalifornia Dreamin' needed to be lower.
- Spoonman was insanely difficult to place anywhere.
It's just a consequence of starting to like other songs more that Party Life fell as hard as it did. You gave me some good and refreshing things to listen to.

However, you also nominated Mr. L's Theme and Haitian Divorce. What the hell. You obtain ***Dangerous D'Lite***

Dangerous D'Lite ~ A brilliant combination of Melonade and some exotic purple mushrooms I found in the haunted forest. It tastes delicious and acts as a powerful laxative. Only for the most diesel of thrill-seekers. Some side effects also included: paralysis, numbness, confusion, lethargy, muteness, midgetitis, swelling of the nose, and strong dysentery days after the laxative cleans you out.

- Wow. Just wow. I was not at all expecting this. You'll surely do better if I do a ranking by average later, but damn! Not only are you the first out, you were also the last one with five songs left. You from perfect to nothing in twelve songs. If anything, that's an accomplishment. Though you're out before the Top 50 (still in shock), you suggested some really good songs. I enjoyed listening to all of them, especially the first time around, but they lost a lot on repeats. The only one that constantly bumped up was "Something I Can Never Have (Still)." It may look like it's been hovering in the middle, but I've kept it out of at least two low updates, almost cutting it around 85 and 75. Your songs have crazy skewed initial impressions, but average out upon repeated listens. None of them are your nominations were bad. You were the last to lose a song and all of your nominations are good.

Just none of them are great. For that, you receive ***Dirty Water***.

Dirty Water ~ This Melonade is not Melonade at all! It may have the color of a pineapple or lemon flavor, but once you taste the metallic and mineral contents, you're aware you got ripped off. Be pleased with what you got, however. It may not taste great, and could possibly be unhealthy depending whether there's chemical dumping in the stream this two-year-submerged glass came from, but it's water and will keep you alive a few more days. If you had a few bad songs, you would've received a Melonade requiring a skull and crossbones label. And as you're the first one gone, all other Melonades must be greater than just dirty water. Congratulations! You've saved everyone's lives! You are a hero!

- Too long for what it does. I stopped paying attention halfway in bcause it just seem to drone on. It changes every now and again, but it's very mellow. Even when things kick in every now and again, they just fade into an auditory background right away. There's the basic calm rhythm, there are these quick spurts of action, and then the action takes over but somehow creates a new layer of ease. It's not bad, but it quickly loses my attention.

- Two seconds in, OUR WORLD'S ABOUT TO BREAK. But seriously, it's good, but nothing at all special. This is also one of the hardest to rank because I enjoy it, but not all that much, and it's not really comparable with any other songs nominated. This feels like a good fit for it.

I think you might've put either the wrong song or the wrong writeup here, unless I'm missing something. OUR WORLD'S ABOUT TO BREAK is from one of my noms, the Avengers: EMH theme song.

It's from listening to both too much, or Avengers not too long before Spoonman. I hear the "DUNNADUNNADUN" in the first second or two, and immediately follow it up with "OUR WORLD'S ABOUT TO BREAK" because it's similar to the same riff Avengers had. It quickly changes, but those were some early impressions initially moving and shaking.

Yikes.

There were about two or three songs it ranked somewhat favorably over, but those songs are still of high quality and shouldn't be seen for quite some time. As well, I had originally placed it it my second-highest group on first listen, but repeated listens have just hurt it so much. It was nice and refreshing the first time, but after at least two dozen listens, it just doesn't do much and is still completely forgettable. I do not remember this song at all (which is partly why it has so many listens; it'll take me two or three times just to get an even basic grasp of what it contains when swapping around groups of five or more).

Even now that I've just listened to it, again, probably for the eighth time today, I've completely forgotten it. It ended not one minute ago and my brain's already back to both Small of Two Pieces and a song that hasn't shown up yet. Also, Frog's Theme. If I even get a grasp of a certain part, it goes either straight to Small of Two Pieces or Frog's Theme.

- When it first starts, I wonder why it's not lower. Then it just picks up enough to justify the placement, but it's still weird I had this in the top thirty for a while. "When all the chips are down" doesn't work to punctuate the nice build-up. Despite its low ranking, I do enjoy this song and wish more from it.

- It's meh. I like 3:14 until 4:14, but everything else is meh. And I'm certain 3:14-4:14 is another Chrono Trigger song. Also, the last minute drags. On repeated listens, it's gotten much better to the point where I raised it about ten spots higher than I had it. When I couldn't put it over anything I had immediately above it, I realized it was better than some of the stuff about twenty spots higher, but those songs were above the songs above this song. If there's been a delay in posting since the first twenty-five got posted, you can blame this song. And although there's been a lot of moving and shaking (see "Ancient Stories"), "To Far Away Times" doesn't climb much higher.

- Nice. That really describes it well, don't you think? Nice. It's sweet, but earthy. Adventurous, but nostalgic. It's a song that I'd love to hear while out hiking in the woods on a sunny morning. It would make every ray of sunlight finding it's way to the ground through the canopy more important. It's nice. And with this, everybody is on the big board.

- Jeff Zero goes from 5 to 3 in one update. Love the instrument that pops in at 1:53. I really liked that. It was serene even when the rock guitars came in. It's also one of the biggest drops on this list. It was recently as high as #22, but the only reason it was there was because it was above a few songs that also weren't supposed to be so high up. Another a > b > c > a dilemma. The superior Xenogears song in a Xenogears slaughter.

- The song reminds me of The Stand miniseries, particularly when they're setting west in the last half of the book. It just doesn't resonate at all. It just goes on way too long. It's also the biggest drop of the list as it's the highest I reached when recalculating placement. Obviously, this short hiatus for correction was necessary.

- This was extremely low on first listen, bottom ten easily. But, somehow, it's crawled up quite a bit. I think it's the part that sounds like an old "breaking news" jingle. This just in, Mycro's songs aren't doing as poorly as I thought first listen!

- Two seconds in, OUR WORLD'S ABOUT TO BREAK. But seriously, it's good, but nothing at all special. This is also one of the hardest to rank because I enjoy it, but not all that much, and it's not really comparable with any other songs nominated. This feels like a good fit for it.

- Serene and quiet and doesn't remind me much of F-Zero, even though it's directly remixing it. I like it. It feels like one of the gray and gloomy days that aren't really at all. The rain's just ended, the greens and reds are vibrant, there's that fresh after-shower smell in the air, there's a light fog that's more cozy and ominous. It's just a beautiful cloudy day.

- I really enjoyed the beginning of this. The rest of the song was good and I'd enjoy listening to more of it, especially int he background of doing other things because it's really pleasant to listen to, but the beginning thirty seconds just hit me in a sweet spot. Nice work!

You know what I would love?

Attendance. Not money made in ticket sales, just the amount of tickets sold. Because, at least at my theater, prices raised at least $0.50, maybe even $0.75 since Potter. And that's not counting 3D sales.
