Adding:

- Cap handing over the $10 immediately after the helicarrier takes off.
- The almost one-track shot (or felt like it) going through every Avenger fighting something (the one that concludes around when Thor jumps on the Chitauri beast)
- Stark and Banner talk English
- Black Widow's interrogation(s)
- Hawkeye's quiver. That blew my mind. As a comic book fan, I completely marked out on how simple and amazing that was.
- Everything with Pepper Potts

What is a game that you didn’t have high expectations for that you ended up really liking?

The Great Circus Mystery starring Mickey and Minnie for SNES. I can't really come up with anything I had low expectations for that I enjoyed thoroughly. It's usually the opposite. I don't usually get a game unless I have some good expectations. I don't usually play friends' games or get game presents.

Actually, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.

YESSS! From the mid-setence grab all the way through him just laying there, stunned. Biggest laughs of the night.

Puny god.

Also, we all applauded when Iron Man shot the beam off Cap's shield. I think. That was a big moment, but there was definitely a Cap scene int he middle of the fight that got tons of claps I'm forgetting if it wasn't that part.

I thought the title was apt.

Holy cow was that movie epic? Every single scene had something memorable in it. Every single character had at least two or three shining moments (except for probably Maria Hill). It was perfect. It was so much more than I had imagined or anticipated.

And those end scenes? My god.

There may be a bit of a delay in rankings for the time being. Said a > b > c > a cluster**** has led me to redoing two separate chunks. I've got a lower 29 to listen to and rank anew, which will be a 30 after I rank another, higher chunk of thirty. Between plans later tonight and work all this weekend, I may not have anything new before Sunday/Monday. I will say I'm very into this at the moment and won't be venturing off to play Xenoblade for sixteen hours at a time.

It'll be a miracle if the next five are posted tonight.

These middle ones are getting tough. There are a few that seem a lot better than their placement and I'm looking to move them up. They're better than some ones further up the list, but said songs are better than those immediately before them in line, and those are better than the ones looking to move up. a > b > c > a.

Guess it's just a matter of what I ranked too high.

Just a regular 3D performance, no IMAX at my theater.

On the plus side, we're making a Joss Whedon double feature. Last show of Cabin in the Woods there at 10:05, gets out about 11:55, and then Avengers at 12:01. And since I've seen the movie three times already, I can exit early and grabs a good seat in Avengers. Hell, he's seen it twice so we both could exit. I'm going to buy the tickets soon just as soon as he lets me know if we've got anyone else coming.

- I hate how picky I am. Here I am just wishing for something with lyrics in my non-vgm links when two days ago I wondering where all the beautiful melodies were when it was just a piano and someone singing? This is lovely, but this is the fourth in a row with very nice, beautiful, sweepi- hold on, what just happened? Ooh, this just took a nice turn. It became a bit harried. I like that. Wasn't as strong as I hoped when it hit though. Still a cool song.

- Wow, that ended quickly. It felt like it would be building up to something, but it just ended. I'm a little disappointed. It was decent. I liked the build up. There was a nice mix of fantasy and futuristic in there. It's just really short with the climax only being about ten seconds long. But without anything else, it's just really boring.

#83. Song: Cerberus
Game: Mass Effect 3
Link:

- Whoa, this isn't the Beach Boys? I've thought it was by them for forever now. My mind is blown. Song almost assuredly gets points for nostalgia alone. Oldies 103.3 WODS was all I listened to growing up, and this came up all the time. Nostalgia can't save it though because this song is just so monotone.

#10. Great Wall of China
- Cool story, great fights, easy but fun boss, and just a lot of Will action. Very cool place.

#9. Nazca Plain & Sky Garden
- Searching the desert and chasing the Moon Tribe spirit with that music is haunting, but Sky Garden is a blast. It's tough at times, but the enemies and look and music just work so incredibly. This would've been number one in my youth. Easily.

#8. Freejia
- So beautiful, yet so depraved. Great stories for Lance & Erik, great reasons for being there, awesome look to the place, and excellent transition from the beautiful part of town to the seedy. I love it.

#7. Gold Ship / Raft
- The raft brings it down some, but the Gold Ship is probably one of the best scenes in the game. I never want to go to sleep.

#6. Natives' Village
- A very short time spent here, but every moment extremely memorable. Probably the first time I cried because of a video game.

#5. Mu
- Terribly tough and long and confusing, but the look, the enemies, the music, the puzzles, that feel you get when the water goes down and there's more to explore, that feel when you figure out how to get Freedan to the boss fight, that feel when you beat the bosses. I don't care, this level is amazing.

#4. South Cape
- Between all the narration, music, graphics, random npcs, and story elements, this should be the best town in the game. It's not. Why? The worst Red Gem in the game.

#3. Itory Village
- The hidden village of Itory is beautiful. Best looking place in the game. The beauty is almost exclusively why it ranks so high, but running down that ramp with the wind whipping through your hair and catapulting across a ravine with that gorgeous background... one of my favorite feels in all of gaming. Love this place.

#2. Edward's Castle
- Excellent dungeon with excellent story. It's easy, sure, but the layout is one of the best in the game and getting that yak meat is always fun. Also, FREEDAN!

#1. Incan Ruins
- Hands down the best place in the game. First challenge, amazing music, beautiful surroundings, fun and difficult enemies, great puzzles, memorable boss, and you really know you can't go back home once you go here. It's perfect.

Locations + Transitions! (Gem Dungeon Not Included)

#25. Diamond Coast
- Can there ever be any doubt? You wake up in a house, talk to his dog, learn about scurvy, and leave. One of my least favorite red gems, too, because I almost always forget and then I have to go back about thirty minutes to my last save, IIRC.

#24. Neil's Cottage
- It should be higher because Neil is awesome, everyone's together, and he's got some crazy cool inventions, but it's about five minutes of a tiny room before moving on.

#23. Moon Tribe Camp
- First major indicator of something freaky happening. I like how scary and eerie the Moon Tribe is, but there dialogue is so sorrowful. Again, not much to do here so it ranks low.

#22. Mt. Temple
- Navigation in this place is horrible, the look doesn't fit the rest of the game, and it takes forever to get what you need and get back out. I do give it credit for some fun enemies and giving me Freedan's badass shield. It's just the worst dungeon in the game. I don't even remember why we go there besides two old people in some house talking about stuff and marking it on our map.

#21. Dao
- End of the game, terrible to navigate, looks awful, and is just a place I want to leave as soon as possible. Some good tense stuff and fun minigames, though.

#20. Euro
- Less to do than there looks, plus some really horrible hidden alleys. I like the story of Neil's parents (oh that's why Mt. Temple exists) and the marketplace, but it's mostly a dull town.

#19. Tower of Babel
- I liked fighting the bosses again and I like the end credits. The transitions are just weird. Kara's here, Kara's not here, a ring is lost, now it's back.

#18. Diamond Mine
- Completely unmemorable. It's not a terrible dungeon, it's just completely forgettable with the worst looking enemies in the game. Those lizard helmets and one-eyed aliens are awful. However, Dark Friar!!!

#17. Seaside Palace
- I love the look and feel of this place, as well as the dread I get when all my friends are dying or hypnotized and just faded spirits. I love the poisoned tree and the way it get darker as you go deeper. The only major, major problem is unkillable enemies. I spent hours trying to clear out rooms where you don't clear anything out.

#16. Pyramid
- Largest dungeon in the game, great moment with The Jackal, great new character, awesome boss fight, but it gets really ,really annoying a lot of the time.

#15. Tunnel to Angel Village
- Some nice quiet moments, but there's not much to it. Really, the last time our group is really together.

#14. Angel Village
- I love its dungeon and the paintings and the lore of the place. I love the light shafts that come down from above. I love the look of the place and the story of Lance & Lilly and saving Kara. I love the minigame where you choose what's different. I love that it uses wind to solve puzzles. It's just not that great even with all these little touches that should.

#13. Watermia
- I love the look of this place, the danger that lurks beneath (drinking game mostly), and the Lance & Lilly storyline that develops here. It's a place I like going back to even when there's nothing left to do here (and that isn't much). Only so low because it can be really complicated to progress the story (i.e. forgetting to check your items).

#12. Ankor Wat
- A lot of really great moments. The enemies are tough and numerous, I love the look of the brush, and I love exploring this place. Most of the points go to the outside of Ankor Wat though. Inside is terribly meh except for that one scene.

#11. Falling Off Sky Garden
- Doo doooo, dunna dada, da daaaaaaaaaaa. I just love this scene. It's so memorable.

It's definitely why I'm trying to take my time with posting. What time I spent on this this evening was trying to arrange the middle section of the list because there are a lot of songs there that are faring much worse on second and third listens than initial impressions. There will probably be some stuff falling as much as forty spots from original placements.

Heh. I was definitely expecting you to hate it. Not hoping mind you, but your reaction didn't surprise me at all. I've always found it really fascinating how the same piece of art (music, poem, movie, painting, etc.) can affect people in such different ways.

There are definitely parts of it I enjoy. Every time I start it, the first minute or so makes me wonder why I have it so low and that I should give it a fairer chance. And then **** hits the fan.

Actually, it's a lot better than I remember listening to it now. And I had already bumped it up from the bottom five. Maybe I was too hasty with this last batch. Well, just Ladi Dadi. Those other four definitely remain where they are. Maybe it's a case of the song getting better on repeated listens? This must be my fourth or fifth time now.

It's one of those questions that's so fascinating that you don't even want to ever find the answer because then all the mysticism would vanish.

And then I would understand how Mycro's brain works.

*nods head in complete agreement*

Also, a quick least favorite:

Justice League Task Force (SNES)
- It was the fastest play and trade I've ever done. It went back to FuncoLand the day after it was unwrapped. It was just so godawful. Between this game and the dozen-or-so mediocre-to-terrible DC comics I had (especially in comparison with my Marvel comics), I refused to even consider DC for at least ten years. I ignored Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, all of their comics, and didn't know more than a dozen characters from that universe until 52.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite superhero game?

Oh man, there are so many I enjoyed over the years. Top ten chronologically played:

1. X-Men the Arcade Game
- I've played three different cabinets in my time. The first, and most frequented, was at the old racetrack. I sank at least ten dollars worth of quarters into this machine about twice a month, and I would rarely get past the Savage Land. Not many other kids were around, but there was one time I played and won with this girl. Wolverine & Storm team-up! The other two times were the only times. Both were the six-person, one at Chuck E. Cheese (the only time I was ever out with my aunt Audrey) where I managed to play Colossus in a huge crowd after ten minutes of waiting; one at Dream Machine with a few other kids. I loved playing as Nightcrawler. Even still, I like the jokingly run around in his stance at night alone.

2. Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems
- The boxart in magazine advertisements just looked so cool, like those Captain Universe power cards. It was one of my most wanted games for about two years before I finally got to play it. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and Hulk! It was a fun platformer/beat-em-up and I really enjoyed how the gems changed things up in every level. Every character was different and figuring out who is best to use for which level was always interesting.

3. Spider-Man (N64)
- Web-slinging action, tons of costumes, great fights and cameos. This was a dream game that I rented often. And the collectibles always had a wealth of info that got me more into Spidey than I ever had been. Paper Bag Man FTW.

4. Spider-Man: The Movie
- Spidey bowling, 'nuff said.

Nah, it was a good story, some great levels, combos were always fun, using stealth to advance and get bonus points wa salways a joy to try. There were a few levels on harder difficulties that have made me ragequit dozens of times, but the overall package is a ton of fun.

5. Spider-Man 2
- While the story isn't nearly as interesting as The Movie's, and the gameplay gets really stale after a little while, it's best as just a sandbox webswinging game. Swinging from one end of Manhattan to the other! Jumping off the top of the Empire State Building then swinging to safety at the very last second! Crawling about the city and finding a random enemy hideout! I still enjoy breaking this out just to swing about the city for twenty minutes.

6. X-Men Legends
- The only reason I haven't beaten this game more than three times is Magma. Every time I'm forced to be her for an hour, I just can't play any further. But overall, the game is a lot of fun. Glitchy with a lot of similar characters and mediocre boss fights, but it's still a lot of fun. Iceman, Nightcrawler, Storm, & Jean Grey for the win.

7. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Wii)
- X-Men Legends were more characters, more things to do, and less pointless forced downtime. The bosses were much worse, but the play was much better. If it were for X-Box 360, I'd probably enjoy it so much more than I already do.

8. Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- I haven't actually played it, but when my Wednesday nights were spent exclusively watching 3-on-3 battles for three hours for nearly five to six months, I'm in love. Ever since UMvC3 came out, though, my interest has completely fallen off. Even though it has Rocket Raccoon, Nova, Hawkeye, and Phoenix, some of my favorite characters ever.

9. Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Duh.

10. DC Universe Online
- Think I logged in about 200 hours in two months before I quit? The endgame wasn't as much fun as I was expecting, but getting there, fighting around the world, and the mechanics of flight and fighting were just awesome. Great costumes, a lot of fun missions, collectables galore. It was grand.

Alright, no new topic then.

95. Song: I Wish
Artist: Ai Mieda

Nominated by Raka_Putra
- Not Brave Heart? Not Butter-Fly? Biggest Dreamer? I really don't like the singer of the song. This song just isn't pleasant to listen to. I can say that Butter-fly would place high, Biggest Dreamer fairly high, and Brave Heart high-end middle based on what I've listened to thus far. Hell, based on where I was first listening to this, Butter-Fly could be #1. Onnnnn myyyy looove

94. Song: Deathmatch
Game: Quake 3 Arena
Link:
Nominated by Ace_Killjoy
- A jangled mess that is still somehow coherent. Didn't enjoy listening to it on its own, but I can definitely feel how awesome it is in the background blasting people away. Just not for me though. Not at all.

93. Song: Haitian Divorce
Artist: Steely Dan
Link:
Nominated by TheCodeIsBosco
- I have no hesitation, no hearts breaking, and no remorse for putting this so low.

92. Song: Spyro the Dragon Opening Theme
Game: Spyro the Dragon
Link:
Nominated by ZaziGuado
- The most interesting thing about this song was when it abruptly ended at 2:53. It's not to say it was terrible. It was just dull throughout.

91. Song: Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix)
Artist: Steve Aoki feat. Wynter Gordon
Link:
Nominated by thundersheep
- Not at all a fan. My finger hovers over the Close Window button for the first minute, and I'm still ready to just escape the rest of the song. Especially during youyouyouyouyouyouyouyouyouyouyou, though I like how it seems to turn into getoutgetoutgetoutgetout after about ten seconds. But really, the song is more annoying than anything. Unless I were clubbing. Actually, even then...

I can make it separate if you'd like. I was toying with the idea.
