Checked two FAQs and a map, and I still couldn't find him. Finally got him last night in a place I thought I had fought dozens of times before. At least eight nights of only searching, not counting regular nightfalls that happen just from doing things and nights spent searching for buried treasure (because those were before I got the quest).
