4. Perhaps at one point, offer an opportunity to trade a pokemon, for a bit of a gamble. There will be three choices, each listed only by like the type of pokemon they are (grass type, ground type, steel type, etc.). However, only one will be a fairly strong/useful pokemon, one will be average, and the other will be super weak. Or maybe two can be above average with one still a 'dud'. Something like that.

If I got a pokemon from the fisherman that isn't Magikarp, put it in spot 1 and put the pokemon from the pokeball in spot 2
If I got a Magikarp from the fisherman, put it in spot 2 and put the pokemon from the pokeball in spot 1.
If I didn't get a pokemon from the fisherman, put the pokemon from the pokeball in spot 1.

I also wonder, can the battle continue if I faint during it?

You gain 2 levels if you fought with a pokemon or GOT STRONGER if you fought yourself.

Wait, does this just mean if I fought myself I gained just one level?

I use a set of JLab Earbuds. I'm not much of an expert on the technical sound qualities, but these have worked perfectly fine as headphones and have lasted much longer than any previous headphones I can recall (It seems like most headphones go bad after a few months while I think these have lasted over 2 years). These were also extremely cheap, by being on clearance I think, so I got these for maybe $5. This pair seems to finally be showing it's age though as I think it's giving a bit of static sometimes while listening, but they have certainly done their job well.
