1. Schala's Theme
First Festival of Stars gives me warm fuzzies, but 8. Lavos' Theme is just so suspenseful and awesome... the simple chromatic melody is effective, and I just like the slow moving chords in the second section.... it's hard to analyze those (it's far from traditional music theory), as most of them are missing the 3rd.... huh, some of them seem to be stacked 4ths, or maybe you could just call them 9ths... I dunno.... Regardless, the major 2nd intervals are what really make those chords. The cool counterpoint between the melody and the bass also adds to that little section. See, I can also analyze music if I want to!!! 4. Crono and Marle ~ Far Off Promise.... not nearly as good as Xenogears' music box theme, but I still like it. 5. Last Battle ~ Battle Against Lavos Core.... I refuse to vote for a excerpt of Chrono Trigger with a few sound effects added. -- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those! It could be fun! 14. Ruined World ~ World Map Theme 4.... eh, I'm just in that mood today. It's a cool map theme.... I like the mistimed marimba-ish chords.
11. A Strange Happening 7. Battle 2.... quite honestly, I like this MUCH more than the in-game Battle 1. Mitsuda always chooses the crappiest regular battle themes. This almost sounds like a Lunar battle theme. I actually like Black Dream a bit more, but Battle 2 needs a good pity vote. I think this match is worthy of Round 3. (Mycroprocessor, if you see this, I request you throw it a vote, as well!) 2. Peaceful Days ~ World Map Theme 1... B. Ayla's Theme did led 1-0 before losing every other vote. Robo's Theme wins 15-1.
Aw, Ayla's Theme isn't THAT bad.... ;_; I like it more than Robo's Theme, myself (more heroic, rather than a weird robotic beat with a cheesy melody), but I wasn't there to vote yesterday. I almost forgot about Epilogue... SMRPG's ending theme sounds a lot like the end of Epilogue. =P The first match today should be a Round 4 match, not Round 1. :-/ It would be a great shame to see Singing Mountain lose today, but it would be even more of a shame for 3. Undersea Palace to be taken down. (that is my vote) 6. Lucca's theme is my least favorite character theme, yet Dome 18 is just....*yawn* 7. Silent Light ...it's one of the most forgettable tracks in CT, but at least it has interesting things like the string bass and evolving instrumentation. 2. Secret of the Forest ~ Guardia Forest Theme.... could I ask nobody to vote for Good Night so that Ayla's Theme looks better than something? >_> -- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those! Uh.....D.
It's hard picking a "worst" type. Poison is good defensively, but terrible offensively. Likewise with Steel. Ice is the opposite. I think the worst would be one of the following: Normal, Ice, Dark, or even Grass. Going by the DPP generation, at least. (and I'm aware that, in RBY, Normal is the second best type after Psychic) In RBY I'd say Fighting is the worst type, closely followed by Fire. -- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those! I've heard that those that were molested as kids have an extremely high chance of being criminals when they're older, more than those abused in other ways. IF that's the case, I think it's clear that sexual abuse, in general, is more traumatic than any other.

As an active Mormon myself, I didn't really like the answers about the Word of Wisdom (not drinking coffee, alchohol, etc.). I think the best answer to that is the Word of Wisdom is like the kosher laws or whatever for the Jews. It's a general health guideline, and some parts of it clearly make sense and some parts not quite as much; likewise with the Jews.
Anyway, what's the Mormon position on the first 1800 years of Christianity? Is Mormonism the "Third Covenant" or were early Christians just doing everything wrong? Why were the Scriptures divided in two between the actual Jews in Palestine and the "Jews" of North America? The church's position is that priesthood authority (aka authority given from God to direct the church as God wants) got lost after the apostles were killed...that no authority was able to get passed down because of that. A similar thing happened in the Americas at about 400 A.D... The scriptures were "divided" into two to show that the Lord raises up (gives religion/continuous revelation to) other peoples besides the Jews (demonstrating God's mercy, essentially). The Book of Mormon people were descendants of the Jews, more-or-less. A passage in the Book of Mormon states that the Lord had many other peoples he raised up, as well, though nobody knows about them at the present time. One can suppose that, at some point, those groups lost the church/revelation/authority God gave them, as well. Oh, and those Book of Mormon people might not necessarily have been in North America. Most scholars think they were located in Guatemala for most of the time that we have a record of. Yes, there is the fact that Moroni hid up the "gold plates" over in present-day New York, but there are possible explanations for it. -- Congrats to SuperNiceDog on besting me in the Guru challenge! |
