So after Unforgiven, Mick Foley began his investigation of superstars that he suspected would run down Austin, even going as far as making both The Rock and HBK suspects (this would also be the last time we see Shawn Michaels until late Spring 2002). At one point, Mr. Ass tells Austin he saw the driver, and he had blond hair (and then eats a Stunner for his troubles). But as fate would have it, the person who would be revealed as the culprit would be none other than...
...Rikishi! This of course would begin the beginning of Rikishi's push to the main event as a heel. As for the other main-event angle, after Chris Benoit headbutts Stephanie and costs Trips a title shot, The Game changes his focus from Kurt Angle to the Crippler, turning tweener in the process. Kurt Angle gets a title shot against The Rock at No Mercy due to beating Trips.
But that's not all, Eddie Guerrero's relationship with Chyna comes to an end after this occurs! I also think this was the last time we'd see GTV as well. Also, the Right to Censor adds its fifth, final, and only female member, Ivory! Finally, Edge and Christian get one last title shot 24 hours after losing the belts, but fall short again to the Hardys in a ladder match and are banned by Mick Foley from any more shots until the Hardys lose! Needless to say, E&C have a plan, and it's one that's too good to spoil here!
Only one title change between Unforgiven and No Mercy, and that's William Regal defeating Al Snow to win the European Championship!

As a Wal-Mart employee in electronics, I go through the same thing for the most part. Just a short list of things I've witnessed/heard...
- A guy last year refused to get a black Xbox, because as he quoted "White Xboxes actually work, you know, like white people" - People automatically assume we have a particular movie, because if we sell films older than the one they're looking for, then surely we must have THAT one - When having to choose between asking a female coworker who plays lots of video games versus asking a male coworker who plays no video games at all, they will ask the male coworker. Then again, that's western NC for ya - A guy tried getting his money back for a broken tv without actually returning the tv itself. - Two guys got a discount on a tv, solely because we didn't have the specific tv they were looking for - Customer service gave someone a refund for a movie they purchased from FYE - A mother got onto me because I sold her two sons T-rated games.
...among other things. To this day though, two conversations stick out the most in my mind from specific customers...
*customer's looking at Burnout 3 for both PS2 and Xbox, then calls me over* Customer: "Excuse me, can PlayStation 2 games play in an Xbox?" Me: "No ma'am, they can't." Customer: "...but they're both discs."
Sometime two years ago... Customer: "Do you guys have any more copies of How to Train Your Dragon in?" Me: "The movie's not set to come out for another month or two." Customer: "But Clash of the Titans came out after that movie and it's already out on DVD!" Me: "Clash of the Titans also made far less money than How to Train Your Dragon, hence why it's already out on DVD." Customer: "................."
As I said Pun, I know your pain.

*Camera switches over to Raven, and you can hear DaGeneticFreak's "HAH?" in the back*
Quiet down Steiner! Anyway... good evening to the UCA fans, all five of you. I am Raven, who is not only a 2-time Heavyweight and Middleweight Champion, but I'm also an inductee in the UCA Hall of Fame and I'm undefeated at PopularityMania. No, Tom pinned Tecknic in my last match at the biggest UCA ppv of the year.
In my return match a few nights ago, ExTha and I wrestled Dante and Boko to a stalemate. While I admit it was tough getting back into the swing of things, let's face it, everyone in Team ExTha has flaws. I have ring (and mic) rust, Swirl likes to smuggle Wheat Thins, and ExTha and Dp are Duke fans. But it appears that occupying Tom Bombadil's office, limo, and lavatory aren't enough, which is why I've decided to contribute to Team ExTha and put matters to my own hands, with the brand new #OCCUPYTOM'SKITCHEN movement! *opens door to Tom's kitchen, only to cover his nose for a few seconds*
Oh dear god, I'm pretty sure The Big Lebowski's kitchen was cleaner than this! Let's continue on... well, the first thing I've noted is that Ryoko is obviously released from UCA, because she's not here making me a sammich; figures as much, she was a bad tag team partner and even Tim can vouch for that. Let's see here... milk that's expired four days ago, hot dogs floating aimlessly in a pan, more wheat thins... hey here's some drinks... no, just Mello Yello. Two talented guys surrounded by waste.. now I know how it feels to attend an NC State game.
Huh, what's that Scott? Low battery? Okay. Tom, while ExTha's making his demands for PopularityMania, I'm making mine simple and to the point for the same ppv. Either you allow me to trim back down to Middleweight and challenge KCF for his title, or allow me and DpOblivion to form our own tag team and pursue the tag team titles against two guys I've never heard of. Until then, DaGeneticFreak and I are going to hang out here in your kitchen outside UCA events. The dirtiness doesn't bother me too much, DaGeneticFreak is already calling his unemployed brother to come here and clean things up. It's you call Tombolo, make it the right one!

They don't have to wait for the Earth to rotate on a 47 degree axis so the stars can set the sky and create an equilax, so they can see the big dipper!
And yeah, JaKyL pretty much summed up the time period between August and September. Trips/Angle/Steph is the biggest storyline going on at the moment; even Test gets involved, even though he quickly gets squashed by HHH. The only other ones that match up to this are anything involving Eddie, and Austin announcing that he'll return at Unforgiven and begin searching for the man who hit him. Also, the feud between E&C and the Hardyz gets a little more further in depth at least, and the RTC adds a new member to their roster in the form of Val Venis.
The WWF title picture is basically Undertaker, Kane, and Benoit all wanting The Rock's belt, but also having to deal with each other in the process. Hence why September was a bit of a dry spell. But it DOES pick up greatly on the road to No Mercy!

Quick update on the title situation between SS and Unforgiven!
- Chyna defended the IC title against Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle a week after SummerSlam. When Chyna was knocked out cold, Eddie goes to console her, but the ref mistakes this for a pin cover and awards Eddie the Intercontinental title! After Chyna forgives Eddie for his mistake, Eddie smirks at the camera, revealing it was his plan all along! - Al Snow beats Perry Saturn at the end of August to win the European Championship and begin one of the most awesome European title reigns ever, if only for his entrance themes.

WCW's answer to SummerSlam was the one-time only New Blood Rising, replacing the traditional August ppv Road Wild. The ppv is actually not too bad and had some decent matchups.
The Good: Booker T vs. Jeff Jarrett for the world title, a ladder match between 3 Count and the Jung Dragons, the 4-way tag title match featuring lots of young talented stars (and Hugh Morrus and KroniK >_>), and a good strap match between Kidman and Shane Douglas (well, good enough, at least). Also, Goldberg turned face again after walking out on a triple-threat match with Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner.
The Meh: Kevin Nash winning said triple-threat match after Goldberg walked out (which a few weeks later, would turn Nash heel), Ernest Miller beating The Great Muta, and later Vampiro and The Great Muta winning the tag titles from a worn-out KroniK.
The Bad - Sting squashing the KISS Demon in less than a minute. Not because the KISS Demon's a good wrestler or anything (because he isn't), but because Sting had to be lowered to this kind of match on ppv - Major Gunns vs. Ms. Hancock in a "Mud Rip Off the Clothes Match". Really WCW? I mean yeah, both of them are hot, but couldn't you just call this a Mud Strip Match? - Lance Storm vs. Mike Awesome for the US title. Don't get me wrong, I love Storm, but they went the wrong way with this match. Awesome had the match won, but Jacques Rogeau first said that in Canada, Storm gets a 5-count instead of 3. Then Awesome makes Storm tap out, but Canadian rules say no submissions. Then Awesome gets a 5-count win, but Canadian rules say Storm gets 10 seconds to get up in order to continue the match. Storm gets up and KO's Awesome to retain the title. Since the match was in Canada and Storm was a heel getting cheered like a face, wouldn't the logical thing to do is have him win clean? - And of course, nothing says awfulness like Buff Bagwell vs. Kanyon in a "Judy Bagwell on a Forklift Match". I wish I were making that up.
Thankfully, most of the meh/bad matches don't even hit 10 minutes, so I think it ends on a decent note. However, SummerSlam 2000 is basically the best ppv the WWF released that year, so I'll just go ahead and say WWF leads 8-0 after August.

I've been training hard for the past 2 weeks. We all have to keep in mind that I haven't wrestled a match in two years, outside my cameo appearance at last year's rumble, where all I did was take a RavenTamer from TimJab and get punched around a few times by the others before being dumped out (seriously, Tombolo said he'd give me $10 to do it). I could pull a Nash and tear a quad in my return matchup, which is of course, what the non-believers in Team ExTha would want to happen.

Not only that ExTha, but your newest member of the newly reformed Team ExTha is ALSO a two-time UCA World Heavyweight Champion AND a UCA Hall of Fame inductee. While my promos may not be as edgy as ExTha's or some of these other guys who I've never heard of, I can assure you that I get the job done in the ring, like former Hardcore champion Steve Blackman!
Also, while he's not a member of Team ExTha, with my return, you will hear more ground-breaking commentary and insight from my well-known assistant, DaGeneticFreak!
-- http://www.facebook.com/zerosignal I swear to God, I'll pistol-whip the next person that says shenanigans!
After spending nearly two years in exile, I return to notice that I had been inducted into the UCA Hall of Fame last year. Surely, there's a lot of people I should thank here. Fellow members of Team ExTha? JaKyL? The fans? In the end, there's only one person that deserves all the praise in the world for the success that I've had, and that person... is myself. *boos and "Raven sucks" chants from fans*
Why should I thank the fans? The same fans who didn't support me in my feuds with people like Icehawk, Lopen, DNEA, and TimJab. On a slightly related note, TimJab was right about me; I was blinded by the cheers and thought I could pull off any gimmick, because fans like you ate it all up regardless. He was also right in the sense that I relied on management for the vast majority of my success, and it showed when JaKyL gave this company to Tom Bombadil. If you fans were smart, you would have booed my promos and my gimmicks, but you gave false hope to myself and anyone else in this business with common sense.
Now I return to see ExTha's noble cause to get himself back in the main event of PopularityMania with #OCCUPYTOM'SOFFICE, and if there's ever been anyone who has told it like it is, it's ExThaNemesis. ExTha, I'm returning tonight to put my name in the hat once again and to support your cause to main event Mania!

Fully Loaded vs. Bash at the Beach Fully Loaded's card wasn't the greatest, but it got the job done. We saw Rock/Benoit and HHH/Jericho steal the entire show, while the rest of the card waned a bit. Taker no-sold wrench-shots to squash Angle, Edge and Christian had one of their lesser quality tag team matches, and Tazz goes from beating Kurt Angle at the beginning of the year (twice) to a return squash match with Al Snow. On the plus side, Saturn finally got some kind of gold to hang onto for more than 10 seconds.
So leave it up to WCW to make a show that makes Fully Loaded look like WrestleMania by comparison. We did get a good Cruiserweight match between Chavo and Juvi, and the real main event was good, but the rest? Not so much. We saw KroniK (formerly known in WWF as Crush and Adam Bomb) beat Shawn Stasiak and Chuck Palumbo to win the tag titles, Big Vito retaining the hardcore title against Norman Smiley and Ralphus, Ms. Hancock beating Daffney in a wedding dress match when Hancock removed her dress on purpose, Scott Steiner being stripped of the US title after using the illegal Steiner Recliner, and Kanyon beating Booker T with help from Jeff Jarrett. We then later saw Scott Steiner return and go heel on us again, helping a heel Goldberg beat Kevin Nash with Scott Hall's contract on the line. Wait a minute, when was the last time Scott Hall stayed in WCW for longer than a month?
Then the hilariously bad happens; the barely-visible graveyard match between Vampiro and the KISS Demon was trying its best to be worse than the Vampiro/Sting human torch match. This was followed up with Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett for the WCW world title, where not only did Hogan use the nWo theme, but Vince Russo had Jarrett lie down for Hogan. Then Russo comes out later and cuts a fake-shoot promo on Hogan, claiming that he's tired of people like Hogan holding back people like Jarrett, Booker, etc. and fires him in the process.
At the time, the promo was thought to be real, but Eric Bischoff revealed years later that Hogan was supposed to return a few months later and win a Champion vs. Champion match to unify the belts. What stopped it? Hogan threw a fit and threatened to sue when Russo called him bald. But anyway, with no Hogan, Vince Russo makes BatB's main event between Jeff Jarrett and Booker T for the WCW title, and to end a pretty damn awful show on a good note, Booker T wins his first world championship.
WWF leads 7-0

Out of the contests I've done, I agree with 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2009. 07 and 10 would have been right if BioShock and ME2 had won, but it is what it is.

2005 and 2006's votals are pretty low due to the fact that the contest was still a new idea when I started it back at the beginning of 2006.
And with that, I may be done with hosting anything on this board until August rolls around for the 2012-13 NFL season, but as always, I can't guarantee that.

To understand the impact of yesterday's match (or lack of), you need to look over the scores of the previous tournament finals'
2000 - Pokemon GSC defeated FF9 29-26 2001 - SSB Melee defeated FFX 48-43 2002 - Metroid Prime defeated Kingdom Hearts 78-65 (OT) 2003 - Prince of Persia: Sands of Time defeated Star Wars: KOTOR 18-13 2004 - MGS 3: Snake Eater defeated Half-Life 2 18-16 2005 - Resident Evil 4 defeated Devil May Cry 3 9-7 2006 - Okami defeated Kingdom Hearts II 14-12 2007 - Super Mario Galaxy defeated Bioshock 31-23 2008 - Persona 4 defeated SSB Brawl 38-33 2009 - Uncharted 2 defeated Batman: Arkham Asylum 28-22 2010 - Super Mario Galaxy 2 defeated Mass Effect 2 24-20
The biggest margin of victory in all of those is Metroid Prime, and it took two days for MP to beat Sora and crew. That record changed in a matter of hours in the 2011 Championship match. The only times Uncharted led were the 1-0 lead at the beginning, and the 5-4 lead shortly after. Then Portal 2 commenced with the beating of a lifetime, joining the winners circle as the Best Game of 2011 with the final score being 36-13! Congrats to Valve and Portal 2!
And because I can, while there's the list of ultimate winners, here's the updated list of ultimate losers! 2000 - Thief II 2001 - Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 2002 - Dual Hearts 2003 - .hack//Outbreak Part 3 2004 - James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing 2005 - Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath 2006 - Table Tennis 2007 - Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2008 - Guitar Hero: World Tour 2009 - Killzone 2 2010 - Vanquish 2011 = Portal 2 > UC3 > Skyward Sword > Dark Souls > Skyrim > Radiant Historia > Battlefield 3

It appears that only two things can stop Batman; treasure hunters, and portal guns. Arkham City was booted out of the tournament with ease as Portal wins 32-18, and will now face Uncharted 3. This is Valve's second appearance in the finals, ever since Half-Life 2 lost the 2004 Championship to Metal Gear Solid 3.
For reasons explained early yesterday morning, Uncharted and Zelda went into overtime today; of course, there were debates on both sides of the fence, but in the end, we're still determining Board 8's game of the year, not GameFAQs's (besides, if that were the case, I wouldn't have done a bracket and said "Skyrim won the poll, so **** it"). Also, I still took the following into consideration for the overtime period to avoid any further controversy.
"you must have voted in any of the contests' previous matches"
Looking at yesterday's votes, I only had to remove six overall, but it would not have affected the outcome regardless. Uncharted 3 wins 32-25 in overtime, for a final overall score of 71-64, advancing to the Best Game of 2011 Championship, marking the second time in three years that Uncharted has done so. No major limitations on voting from here on out, but I will be monitoring votes from here on; like many other contests here, rallying will not be tolerated.
Batman thrashed every opponent he ran into until it took two days to bring down Ghost Trick. Meanwhile, Portal 2 has probably had the second-easiest path to the semifinals in this tournament. Can Portal 2's big run continue here, or are we seeing Uncharted vs. Batman for the second time in three years? We'll find out in 24 hours.
-- http://www.facebook.com/zerosignal The photograph reflects, every streetlight a reminder; nightswimming deserves a quiet night
To those saying it's a bad idea, it's not the first time something like this has happened. Back in the first NCAA games contest, there was a rally of votes that helped FF Tactics crush SSB Melee from people who had never voted in any of the previous matches. Instead of FFT advancing, the tournament hosts removed all of the obvious rally votes (mine included) and SSBM went on to not only win that match, but the entire tournament as well.
Also, bump.

Uncharted 3 and Skyward Sword were going at it for hours on end, with both games taking big leads during the day. Then after 3 hours of silence, the topic exploded as a result of not just one but TWO rallying topics outside the board. If every vote was counted (alts, rallies, etc.) Skyward Sword would be advancing to the finals with a 58-50 victory.
However, after thoroughly looking through the votes/users/etc., I discovered that a grand total of 29 votes came from people who only saw the two topics on the PS3 and Skyward Sword boards. After calculations, this WOULD have been a 40-39 victory for Uncharted 3, until I looked further into back-to-back votes made by XIII rocks/socks. Socks, if you weren't an alt of XIII Rocks, you wouldn't be having his name in your signature, and the fact that you two voted less than 2 minutes from each other doesn't help your cause.
To top it all off, the suggestion of removing rallied votes/alts came from both sides of the fence, so there's no bias for Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3.
So as of right now, the score is 39-39 and we're heading into OVERTIME. You have until midnight to vote again, you must have voted in any of the contests' previous matches (excluding this one in regulation), and any signs of rallying or alts will result in your vote being immediately DQ'd. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to do something like this.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3) vs. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)

There's also the debate of XIII rocks and XIII socks. A few sigs I've seen in the past hint that they're both the same person, which if that's the case, then we're heading into overtime.
