Wasn't the "they can get married to people of the opposite gender just like everyone else" argument first made in the California Supreme court?

I imagine the Texas Supreme Court would reach a different conclusion on the exact same argument.

Nah, I don't have any problem with Hanukkah or New Year's Day, though I'm not a big fan of New Year's. I'm quite willing to say "Happy Hanukkah" to people. But "Happy Holidays" is used by some people almost to mean "let's have a winter holiday season and exclude Christmas specifically."

So you'd be alright with doing a class prayer for every major religion then, right? And for stores to have holiday greetings for every major religion as well? Because if not, you're being hypocritical.

Certainly not. There should be no school-run class prayers for any religion. But any student who wants to pray, and to lead others in prayer, should be able to do so.

Stores who want to have greetings for other religions are and should be free to do this; I imagine this would be decided by market forces, such as the number of customers they have of each religion. As a consumer, I am also free to favor stores that celebrate only holidays I celebrate.

I used to think this too, but liberals do oppress Christians all the time. Especially by making it hard to practice religion in school. Also with ridiculous stuff like naming Christmas trees holiday trees, getting stores to say "Happy Holidays" in their advertisements, and trying to take down giant crosses in the desert. I've been wanting to boycott stores that use "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it because I'm too lazy to check which stores are using which greeting.

Riku is probably stronger than Seifer.

But these results aren't 1-on-1 correlations, so they shouldn't be treated that way.

If we don't have a better, alternative, way to think about them, of course we're going to use the tools we have. I think people are pretty well aware that this format doesn't line up exactly with 1v1.

So Squall should get between 52%-53% on Sora 1v1 based on prior results. That's not a big gap. It's why I was so surprised people were going over 55% for Squall here.

Part of it was that I expected SFF, and part of it is that Sora went from 56% on Yoshi to 47% on Bowser from 2008 to 2010, a pretty big difference.

Or Sora/Riku is a better (meaning more appealing to voters) rivalry then Squall/Seifer. One of those. Riku being stronger than Seifer feels more likely to me.

Squall in a night match jumped 5% against Laharl from the board vote, while last year Sora jumped 2% from Laharl in what I assume was a night match.

Squall should win here

So if Sora gains 3% on Squall in the day half of the match........That's pretty hard I guess. 3% is almost to the level of Master Hand/Kuja. I don't think the ASV is strong enough these days for that kind of shift. But Sora has an excellent ASV, and Squall's is awful.

Random fact: Link has only won one contest in an odd year: 2005. He lost to Cloud in 2003, lost to L-Block in 2007, and there was no character battle in 2009. By contrast, Link is 5-0 in even years. Since this year is odd, clearly Link is doomed.

If you adjust him to 47% on Bowser, what's so awful about that? Bowser is strong, 47% on him isn't bad.

Sora was supposed to be stronger than Bowser, and Squall is substantially stronger than Bowser, so 47% is plenty bad there.

I'd take Squall to get substantially higher than 55% on Sora 1v1 nowadays, even without SFF. Sora looked awful last year.
