uhh, VC and Alpha Centauri get quite the bit of love actually <.<

the only people who ive met who give alpha centauri love are the people whove played it. Which is a small number, even if the turn based strategy crowd is already small. Alpha Centauri is pretty underrated. Its a top 50 game of all time, and ive never seen a list put it there.

RB is one of the most replaceable positions in all of sports. At least, of all the "glamour positions" in sports (QB, RB, LB, WR, CB in NFL; C, Goaltender in NHL, PG/C in NBA, and 1B, SP, OF in MLB). I mean CJ is a top RB and all, but im rarely a big fan of giving out a major contract to RB.

no offense dude but your post spends way too much time bashing sm64. And to be honest, just about all of your criticism of SM64 is easily applicable to mario galaxy.

Mario 64 may be overrated, but nowhere near the level of mario galaxy 1/2 is on b8. Some people here legitimately think its the best game of all time, or at least top 10. Its nowhere near that. Mario Galaxy 1/2 doesnt have close to the replay value of mario 64, so I'm not sure where this "mario 64 doesnt age well" crap is coming from. Unless you are talking graphically, which then I'm just gonna say people who think high end graphics are the best part of gaming are overrated.

as for individual worlds, out of all the worlds in mario galaxy 1/2, few are on the level of

Shifting Sand Land
Cool Cool Mountain
Lethal Lava Land
Rainbow Ride
Tick-Tock Clock
Dire Dire Docks
Wet Dry World

Deep Shell Well and A Strolling Down Rolling Lane are the only two from galaxy 2 id put on the list. Melty Molten Galaxy also belongs as a top tier level, from mario galaxy 1

losing your match doesnt affect you as much as you might think. If you were mid level plat the season before, youll stay in plat win or lose.

depending on the size of the tv, you might not need 1080p. If the tv is under 32 inches or so, 720p is perfectly fine, and probably a good bit cheaper

Morrowind generally has a better story, but Oblivion's has more focus. The world in morrowind is a last larger, but the world in Oblivion just seems richer. Morrowind has more to do, but Oblivion's gameplay is so much better.

if by gameplay u mean combat then yes i agree. Oblivions combat is quite a bit better. But overall gameplay? Not a chance.

The world in oblivion is not richer than morrowind.

oblivion i just felt has no reason to get lost in the world. No exploration. No walking from one town to the next and seeing a quest giver on the side of the road. No hidden dungeon in an underwater grotto. Nowhere near the lore of morrowind (morrowinds in game books >>>> anything oblivion had lore wise)

Games like oblivion i want to play for hours on end. I dont usually want to take a quest, immediately do it, and go back to really quickly beat the game. Games like morrowind/oblivion are all about the journey, not the super overpowered character one almost always ends up getting

and to comment on some previously mentioned ones

-Bioshock. Great choice. Tons of backtracking to make a world seem bigger. 7/10 game at best.

-FF9 is pretty well liked among the entire FF community. Its not just here. B8 probably has a few more people putting it closer to the top FFs, but not too many online communities that ive posted on hate FF9.

-SMRPG gets maybe a bit more love than it should, but the game is very well liked mainly because:
1) Its the first RPG for many gamers born in the late 80s/early 90s, and these gamers are the young adults in the gaming spotlight now (especially on internet message boards)
2) its a really good starter RPG due to its relative ease, simplistic menus and equipment structure. While catering to more hardcore jrpg types with quite a bit of hidden items and minigames (get a super jacket people cmon!)

EDIT: Dota is also extremely overrated. It ruined the Warcraft 3 custom map community. War 3 used to have so many fun custom maps to supplement a main game that was good, but inferior to starcraft.

Didn't Bethesda make Daggerfall free or it's now free and legal abandonware or something? I should check that game out.

ill admit the game didnt age well graphically. And the freeware version is pretty bugged. But its still worth trying imo.

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 is getting pretty close to most overrated, especially on b8

Others off the top of my head

-Original LoZ. Adventure of Link was a much better NES zelda
-Halo. PC gaming had been doing FPSs much better, much earlier
-Another this gen choice: Uncharted
-On B8? MGS3 is very overrated. MGS3 is a top 50 game of all time, but MGS1 and MGS2 are much better games. And they get a bit less attention (especially MGS2)
-Oblivion. Morrowind and Daggerfall blow it out of the ****ing water. Oblivion is absurdly dumbed down and has little reason to get lost in the world and explore

civ 4, mgs4, ff4, and p4 are the best choices. RE4 is a tier below those games, but still good. MM4 isnt bad, but mm2 and 3 are just leagues better

ya ive read a lot about cali sales taxes being kinda high. Too bad sales taxes are primarily paid by the middle class. I read that in cali you need a 2/3rd majority vote to raise state taxes, and that will like never happen. Its also a major reason why cali is in tons of debt right now.

.hack isnt that good, i played the first two over the summer after constantly putting the series on hold. The first one is a solid 7.5/10 or so. Not bad. A big rpg fan should find enjoyment from it.

By early in the 2nd one, it felt repetitive. The dungeons arent very unique. Overall i wasnt too happy with it. About a 5/10, average. The third and fourth i need to start because if i put them off too much longer, ill never come back to the series. But from what i understand its more of the first 2.

lol thor, captain america, all of the spider mans, and xmen 3. First class was ok, but hardly as good as 1/2.

If i have to add a fifth to the elite four comic book movies, its iron man 1.

I have especially single out spider man fans, that series was so cheesy and stupid its ridiculous.

Comic book movies became stale years ago, by about 2006 the genre has been driven into the ground. The occasional great (the dark knight) or above average (iron man) movies still come out, but ya genre has to go.

Well, if the Tea Party does become a legitimate 3rd party (too much to hope for), I'd think (hope?) it would contain most of the libertarian types while the old Republican Party would take the social conservatives.

congrats, you just split the party in half, causing you to loose many more spots in congress. The two party system has pretty much ensured that you have to take the good with the bad on whichever side you choose.

I mean, most of all, in the sense that we need politicians with substantive differences in policy once they are elected. As for government and big corporations (as opposed to small corporations), my feeling is that they are complicit with each other, and that both Democrats and Republicans have supported this system for years.

the democratic ideology does not support this system. The democrats, once they get into office, seem to become wimps and start to give in.

Its just like how most republicans that i talk too (the voters) hate how the usa spends spends spends. But the republicans in office spend just as much money as the democrats.

Hell the only president recently to actually improve the debt situation was clinton (it was the only decently good thing he did, as repealing the glass-steagall act was horrible and so was signing the telecommunications bill. Both by far outweighed the good of reducing the debt).

Incumbency isn't really much of an advantage.....we've had plenty of one term presidents.

doesnt the incumbent have the advantage of not having to use postage for mailing advertisements? I mean at the presidential level where you turn on any major cable news station and get info about the president its might not be a big deal. But incumbency does have financial advantages.

So the Tea Party is one of the best things that's happened to American politics in a long time, something that actually forces us to step back and ask ourselves what kind of country we want.

if you mean that in a "you need a villain to unite the good guys" sort of way, i agree with you i guess.

The problem is the government isnt the biggest evil in the usa. Its the fact that the corporation controls everything.

I wish a presidential candidate like teddy roosevelt was around. By far the best president in us history.

EDIT: Obama screwed up royally in 2009 and 2010, when he had the house, senate, and oval office. He tried to be a "jesus figure" and "beyond the evils of politics" by trying to be bi partisan. Doesnt work because every republican doesnt want to work with him.

The smartest thing the republican party does is how they realize that 40% of the country isnt gonna like them anyway, so they say screw their vote. All they want is the 40% that are republican, and the middle 20% that actually believes all the talking points and "feel good" stories and doesnt actually look at what political ideologies each party has.

ron paul sucks. Lol anyone who thinks libertarian economic policy is any better than republican economic policy. wurd, thanks for the link. .hack is an ok series. Really fun concept with the whole single player game trying to emulate an MMO. But the dungeons are kinda bland. Part 1 was about a 7.5 or 8/10, part 2 was maybe a 6.5. Slightly above average, but not much more
