Music is still mostly objective, it just isn't feasibly scalable at this point in time. If music were entirely subjective, any one of you monkeys could sit at a piano, hit random notes at random times and the result would necessarily be equal in quality to any pre-arranged set of notes, or what we call 'music'. But we all know that isn't true, and if you sit at a piano and try to figure out why you will eventually understand that there are objective musical rules.

Money isn't the only motivation to do science, but it is the main motivation to fund it.

Results are the main motivation to do science, money is simply the means. I don't see how anyone can disagree with science being a taxpayer burden - I hope you weren't suggesting that scientific findings and data ought to be owned entirely by companies whose main motivation actually is money.

I really loved Flowers From Exile, Nos Chants Perdus was almost too straightforward for its own good but there's several great songs, L'assasin and La Vertige Du Vide in particular are way better than they should be. I just like the instrumental pallet he uses

Cloud Nothings album has some good rock but is mostly too straightforward for my tastes. The track "No Sentiment" saves it.

Porcelain Raft - Strange Weekend is a pretty, catchy dreampop album Chillwave? Dreamchill?

and I recommend The Boats - Ballads From the Research Department to Giggs. REally moody eclectic nighttime album. Alcest has a new one but it didn't do much for me on first listen...
