I like plot twists, but it just didn't sit well with me the way it was handled here. I felt cheated in a way. Plausible material like mentally connected forcefields between people transferring information, Ice9, discussions of curses on the titanic, etc? I usually just send Vanessa over to kill the spider (with 2 vulneraries and an antitoxin) and turtle at the bottom of the map with everyone else. Pretty easy! Probably harder if you're speed running, but I don't really like speed running. The only ones I find difficult are Ghost Ship and the one in Ephraim's route where you assault that castle and start on two sides with a bunch of locked doors. At the very least, get to Descend, then decide whether or not you want to continue. If he's just flat out bored with it by then, there's nothing that's going to change his mind. He's not going to magically start liking the characters and dialogue by getting farther when they're fairly well established (if not completely refined) by then.. Also they get progressively longer (to the point that Act 5 is about the same length as 1-4 combined). Because unless you're just REALLY bad at the game you never have to do this. That second fight with Vanitas was really freaking hard btw. Took me about 5 tries, eventually I stacked more Cura/Curagas into my deck for rapid healing. ...Okay yeah you're just not very good at the game if you take 5 tries on Vanitas on normal.
