I think the Republicans are going a bit too far with the current debt ceiling issue though. Playing hardball in support of their positions is what they were elected to do and what they have done (and the Democrats have failed over and over at), but economic meltdown wasn't one of the things they were supposed to do.

Happy to see people putting Melee back in the top 5. Brawl's probably going to get ranked again too; the win against TP was by too big a margin not to convince a lot of people to restore its place. I'm calling it an SFF match though, and besides, to break into the top 25, you need to beat a top 25 game.

It's great to see Chrono Trigger with another win over tough competition (barring any last minute comebacks). I was a bit worried going into this one, especially as the RPI recently switched over to LTTP.

Galaxy 2 is the highest ranked game with a loss in the RPI at #4, and there are 4 defeated games in the top 10 in the RPI, which will probably become 5 after today. CT has had a very strong RPI for a long time, and should reach a really high level after today's win over LTTP, so much so that a single loss in the future would probably still leave it above all the other 1-loss games. I don't know how close RBY is to the top 2 in the RPI, but if it's not that close, CT could conceivably lose next week and stay #1 in the RPI.

Well, FFVI's results probably fall at least 2 standard deviations outside the norm, maybe 3. But we've had 84*10 = 840 matches so far, so it's not that surprising that we get some truly strange results.

What a strange match that was. Super Metroid went on a massive tear on the first part of page 1, taking a lead of 18-7 IIRC, because FFVI went on its own stretch of dominance and closed the match to within 2 votes. Then SM turned it around and pulled away to its final victory margin.
