Further, I would point out that even if women were increasingly rejecting the word "feminism," they are not rejecting the idea as it would be properly applied.

Yeah I loved DWM when I was a kid and the Shim Megami and Persona games are very very similar to me.

I would like to point out that while I do seem to be defending the ending (mostly the idiocy of thinking Lin's sacrifice was cheapened), it really was resolved far too quickly. Even if they'd just cut it off at her Avatar Stating, it would have been much better than the super crammed ending they did make.
And yes, they probably didn't know they had a second season when they planned it. Edit it after the fact or end it on a cliffhanger if you have to, I don't care. The last few minutes were just bad. -- I ****ing love to cuddle. I'm being oppressed! |

The airbenders being captured even after Lin's sacrifice does not cheapen the sacrifice and it's stupid to think so. Same goes with her getting her bending back. Unless she knew she'd get her bending back, which she did not, everything she did meant a hell of a lot. Even if she did know that Tenzin's family would be captured, she still bought them enough time to NOT have their bending taken away, at a time when she did not know it was fixable.

People trying to make this a "coming of age" thing, it's stupid. And then celebrating because he told his parents that he's gay? Seriously, so what? Almost all the chi blocker attacks can be disabled with airbending, too.
It's actually kind of clever how badly Tenzin always beats up on the Equalists. Considering that they wouldn't be particularly well prepared for airbending what with the fact that there's like four in the entire world. To be fair, most cartoons now are quite bad.
I mean, when I was a kid we had some major stinkers too, but seriously cartoons are so bad these days. The good ones almost always get canceled.
