why would anyone be interested in future nintendo consoles if they had no interest in the wii? nintendo was actually a highly respected company 6 years ago, is there really anyone who holds nintendo in HIGHER regard now than they did in say, 2003?

yeah even I have to admit that's some dumbass bias there, nintendo might be garbage these days but hyping the vita is going way too far

the 5.42% who are anxiously awaiting the wii U should really feel bad about themselves

no shame in getting duped into the wii though, nintendo had a great history up until that point

Im not talking the competitive scene. I mean go out onto the floor of your college dorm and ask people to play brawl. Then another day ask them to play Blazblue. Its a big difference.

This is more or less the reasoning I gave when I pronounced Brawl dead here in Oregon. Melee acually outdraws Brawl here, and by significant (percentage-wise, all of our numbers are just LOL-low at this point). There's no reason for new players to get in because the game is such a change for them and they have no desire to put time in. Semi-competitive players will never get good enough to matter and get tired of pot-filling. Top players get bored with no competition. And for everyone the game has a viewer-entertainment value equal to diarrhea so there is literally 0 hype for anything not national and transcending regions. I've won over a dozen brackets in the last 12 months, and literally no one is watching that crap. People get their mediocre placing, play some friendlies, leave. That gets tiring after a while and then they just stop showing up altogether.

that's how it was here, I haven't been to a tournament in almost a year but even at that point, by the time grand finals rolled around most people were off either playing friendlies, or what became huge in my region was just playing N64 games...

no amount of money would convince me to do this, the lesser paying jobs are also typically miserable, either because of dealing with the brain damaged general public or because of dealing with your brain damaged co-workers(people that get paid minimum wage get paid minimum wage for a reason)

most energy drinks just make me sleepy, B vitamins are actually important to your sleep processes, some even have a good amount of magnesium in them and magnesium deficiency is a huge reason a lot of people have insomnia, it doesn't seem like most of the companies making them really know what they're doing. I find just normal caffeinated drinks like coffee and soda are much more effective for me. coffee is ****ing nasty though so if I really need the caffeine kick I'll usually just have mountain dew

doesn't seem to apply to the celtics nearly as much as the pats and red sox. probably even more so now, just come here and don't drink and eat fried chicken during games and you're already way ahead of one of our teams in the PR department

and man i love the knicks

boston has the fanbase and the income, it just struggles to attract good players because the NBA is the NBA and living in a warm weather party destination is a bigger priority than winning in that league

It's not casuals that ruin things, it's developers developing for them. There's absolutely no need for it, and it's just harmful to the game.

There's nothing wrong with being a casual player, it's just that developers shouldn't hinder high-level gameplay for them, because they simply don't care about the in-depth mechanics.

casual and low skill shouldn't be confused, you can be competitive minded and low skill, and THOSE people are the ones that got hurt the most I'd argue. just going to c/p a recent conversation I had that illustrates this

I'll be the first person to say that brawl's competitive scene is full of terrible people, I just like things to be accurate, it wasn't an accurate criticism at all

Brawl is a game that's designed for fun. I dislike people that take brawl seriously and are competitive in it. Getting rid of items, final smashes, and playing the game like we saw in the video takes a very fun game and just turns it into...garbage.

I hate people who are competitive too, they should get rid of the results screen in smash 4 because everyone wins!

yeah, if you can actually get good with a low tier you tend to get a lot of respect. san and reflex are great with ike and pokemon trainer and no one disrespects them for their character choice at all. for all the **** I will say about the brawl community being awful, this is just made up garbage

the first game was won by toon link, in the event of a time out % lead wins unless you grab the edge more than 35 times usually. and I can't fully agree with you and ulti here, aside from the under the stage shenanigans in the second game the TL was playing like just as much of a typical brawl neanderthal

Pokemon is Nintendo's most child-friendly franchise. Nintendo would do their best to protect them from the evils of the Internet, and an MMO with that kinda protection is.. yikes.

I don't know any children who play pokemon, it's mostly hipsters in their early 20s at this point

This would be expensive as f*** to make, and I don't think it honestly boosts the sales anywhere near enough to justify the jump in expenditures.

But we can dream.

nintendo would actually have to dedicate a AAA budget to a project like this and they're not used to that, their thing these days is making extremely inexpensive novelties like wii fit and watching that sell millions and millions while they expend basically nothing making it

like/dislike button would make a lot more sense on this site than avatars, no avatars ever

a pokemon MMO would be the first legitimate threat to warcraft ever, nintendo isn't ambitious enough to pursue it though, they can sell millions of copies of effortless rehash instead
