It won't be such a long time. Didn't Ana say he was expecting the campaign to end by the end of this summer?

In any case, I've made no secret that I intend to play Mari for a new campaign. The build I use will either be a Kalashtar Cleric (specializes in enabling with opportunity attacks) or a Half-Elf Bard (specializes in big at-will forced movement); both have some issues but do a good job capturing her essence. I doubt any other option will sway me, barring an exceptional Seeker article this month.

I'm not objecting to the notion, it's just interesting. The party dynamic will obviously be different anyway, so it might not even matter there.

What was the default 3.5 god of death? I know a lot more about Forgotten Realms than Greyhawk.

Nerull, right? I dunno what was so special about him. I think the real objection is that the Raven Queen was a PC elevated to canon godhood.

Could you guys please each post your intended ED, and what book it is found in? I know Kan is planning Demigod and that's in PHB, but I don't know where the other EDs you guys are planning are, or even what ED each of you want.

'Draconic Incarnation' (though note that I object to the flavor; I like Avatar of Storm's a lot better but it's 100% impossible to qualify for). It is from Dragon #388.

Anyway Kanz if you exploit the 'well the old version of the capstone wasn't errataed' I will punch you.

Why do you want Radiant One anyway, thinking about it? It's a great ED, but the features don't seem to mesh well with your style.

I mean, for one, there's the obvious Fatesinger pick. But there are a lot of awesome other EDs Kirie qualifies for.

Yes it is worse, outright OOCly threatening to kill a player character because you don't like what they're doing is the epitome of dickishness.

No. Just think of it as fair warning. Far worse would be actually going through with it without telling the other player beforehand that they've hit your tolerance level.

No seriously, you don't respond to being smacked on occasion to "LOL I'M GOING TO RUIN THE GAME FOR YOU AND KILL YOUR CHARACTER IF YOU DON'T QUIT IT BRAH".

Is that worse than magically preventing someone from playing their character because you don't like what they're doing? Kanz has a fair point here, that gag was getting really stale.

Artifacts are neat, but I don't want them to be too ridiculous. The BoK was obviously too ridiculous in combat... on the flip side, the Vengatol is pretty ridiculous for out of combat utility. My old artifact was at about the right level combatwise but the Dragonzord was maybe a bit ridiculous for utility.

Eh, the artifacts are bad in execution because they're still a sizeable power increase, but there was nothing wrong with him getting them in concept.

I have a serious hatred for Luni so I won't even try to object to that part.

As for Val being unstoppable, as long as I didn't fail my init roll that I have a big lead on compared to Kanz (assuming I'm not providing him with my bonus in a combat situation, I have +8 on him), beating him in combat would be simple. Fly into range, IP, Hellfire Grasp, AP, Shock Spiral. I calculate a total average damage of 173 lightning and 10 fire/necrotic, easily enough to knock him to 0. Add in a Weapon of Speed Elemental Bolt and we're in probable-instant-kill territory (ie below negative bloodied).

The crime was conspiring against reality. And it was a confessed crime, at that.

I believe it was already established no such crime exists, and we never charged her with that in the first place.

also /ooc/ is literally the most annoying gimmick ever don't do it again

For the record Kan was a Super Tennis player(his trophy was stolen so I feel it's not a problem to say this) and I'm still not sure how that is even remotely connected to the gimmick.

That's actually the point. It wasn't supposed to be, because the idea was to keep people wondering what the hell was up. Think of it like a superhero taking a non-indicative codename instead of one that is obviously related to what he can do.

Even though it was completely obvious because you threw tennis balls at people the first night...

But Visage of Zhudun is better than any of Brona's powers for damage contribution so if you're talking about novas it's a bit iffy. Minions of Malbolge is the other daily and it's also quite strong. Also, Brona spends a whole one feat on the Warlord side, Combat Commander.

Don't you have a couple others spent on utility, though? Like Hybrid Talent?

Well, okay, Hybrid Talent. I guess that's sort of spent on utility. Or rather, being a Warlord forces me to use Hybrid Talent to get Storm Soul back. That's two feats. Yeah, if Brona wasn't a Warlord he'd have two more feats and could take Master Riposte too, I suppose.

I think your criticism of the build doesn't really make sense though, mostly because, yes, it's not the best striker ever, but that's not really related to the build chosen; the build sacrifices a few feats that would have a hard time contributing to damage regardless. The only way to make the class itself a sufficiently menacing striker seems to be to make it a charger, and I am not a terrible person, so that's out.

Accuracy though, I guess if you include Lighter than Wind for Brona, it's equal.

You aren't considering offturn attacks there, notably Master Riposte. Though yes, Essentials classes do not have novas, that is not a big surprise. This build's at-will damage is equal to Brona's even if you include Lightning Field, and it's more accurate and more crippling.

The damage isn't that bad, actually. 10 from Hexblade feature, 4 from enhancement, 4 from DIS, 3 from Shard of the Mage, 4 item from Staff of Ruin, 3 from Academy Master, 5 from Gauntlets of Brutality, 2 from Weapon Focus, total damage bonus is identical to Brona's at +35.

Staff of Ruin doesn't apply here IIRC, not if you're using the Transcendent Focus. Also, this requires you to prone, which isn't that easy either.

MBA prones because of Flail Expertise combined with Flesh Rend's slide. As for Staff of Ruin, I'm not sure why it wouldn't apply since you are still casting through it, sort of, but it's easily replaceable, either with Iron Armbands of Power or an Ioun Stone of Allure.

Holy crap guys Hexblades are simultaneously the best and the worst ever. I can barely even explain how this build I came up with works but I'm reasonably confident it does.

The trick is using the Gloom Pact Weapon, which naturally has reach, combined with a staff implement, and then replace the pact weapon with a transcendent ki focus. Staff Expertise adds +1 reach on melee attacks using the staff, which the Hexblade at-will technically does. Transcendent ki focus adds +1 reach on melee attacks using the ki focus. That turns it into reach 3, which is quite impressive. Furthermore since you're making an implement attack using the staff you can also feel free to benefit from the property of an Accurate Staff to make up for the Gloom Pact's lower proficiency.

The Gloom Pact Weapon is a flail, so there's also a lot of nice, saner hax you can apply to that.
