Okay... Dragoon Level 3 Dart by the end of disc 1 is actually mildly impressive.

And you've probably guessed this by now, but Albert is Lavitz 2.0, so anything said about one applies to the other. As for Dragoon Spells, at the point you're at, admittedly, none are too impressive, aside from Rose Storm. Astral Drain's use is wearing thin by now, there aren't any water enemies around (Final Burst STOMPS them hard), and you're not using Shana. They'll get better though.

Later bosses are probably gonna make you want to use dragoon for added defense, as well as some specific magic attacks. In particular, the spell Dart gets at Dragoon Level 3 WRECKS Water enemies, and if you decide to actually give Shana a shot, healing becomes almost too easy. Additionally, the spell Lavitz gets at Dragoon Level 2? One of the most useful spells in the game, though admittedly his only good one.

Guard healing works GREAT on the random mooks, though.

Thats true, but as you said, its not much. Compared to Shana or Meru's healing abilities, Astral Drain is just plain BAD.

As the TC said, she gets a set amount of SP per attack. Early on, it isn't much, but as her D'Lv goes up, she'll get more per shot. And this is what offsets her being a comparatively bad human character; her dragoon magic, in particular her last spell, is like the best in the game. Hell, her FIRST spell is full heal to a single target.

(Not to mention, theres only one other character who can heal while dragoon, and that one not only gets dragoon late, but needs D'Lv 2 to do so)

Shana isn't.... oh, you're not THAT far yet, are you? Okay, I'll let that one go. But without spoiling too much, Shana has the best magic stat in the game; magic items (Burn Out etc) rely on that. Shes insane with them.

Is pretty good by FF2 standards, is fun to play in Dissidia, is fairly good storywise in Dissidia, and, as previously mentioned... JYB for a VA, hell yeah.

What drags him down a bit is, well.... FF2 standards.

2/10. Nothing more than a stupidly perverted mob boss. He does the role well, but when his only role is to be a (potentially sexually confused) gigolo and then fall off a cliff.... Yeeeeeah. No.

Not bad, and not the worst turk (SPOILERS: Thats Elena), but... yeah, that little translation induced plothole hurts him. Even if his interactions with Zack in CC help him.

Also, hes just as pointless as Elena in the sequel material.

Like Edge, massive hate in FF4. Redeems himself in TAY as well, but my hate for him in FF4 (STOP RUNNING AWAY ON YOUR OWN YOU USELESS SPOONY BARD) dragged him down FAR more than Edge got dragged down.

First off, theres been a typo in the nominations list for a few days now; Noel's not FFX-2, hes FFXIII-2.

Anyway... Biggs and Wedge....

4 (TAY): 6/10. OBVIOUSLY forgettable in 4, but in TAY they're decent for being Ceodore's base motivation.

6: 5/10. Good for mooks, but thats just it; they're mooks.

7: 7/10. Best B/W duo by far. I laugh every single time Biggs gets punched into the camera.

8: 5.2/10. Comedic gold in their fights ("I don't wanna be demoted again...!"), but UTTERLY forgettable beyond said fights.

X: 3/10. Not even REMOTELY important outside of Blitzball...

Is a semi-rare example of a character that starts off likable, earns my complete ire (with how she treats Locke when he tries to apologize), then ends up likable again by the end.

Nominate: Noel Kreiss (Final Fantasy XIII-2). We'll see how the newcomer fares after his game comes out next week.

As for Cids... here we go.

FF2: 5/10. Purely average by FF2 standards, but is noteworthy for being the first Cid.
FF3: 3/10. Almost completely forgetable.
FF4: 6/10. Has his moments, but is honestly outshined by... basically the rest of the FF4 playable cast except for the like 2 people older than him.
FF5: 5.5/10. Only slightly above average.
FF6: 2/10. Worst Cid period.
FF7: 8.8/10. HIGHWIND **** YEAH.
FF8: 4.7/10. Kinda meh, especially for a Cid.
FF9: 6.9/10. Some of his moments with Zidane are just hilarious.
FFX: 7/10. Pretty cool overall, and having the guts to give the order to nuke Home.
FF13: 7/10. Was actually really freaking awesome as a character, but MAN was the fight hard.
Dissidia: 4/10. Somewhat of a jerk when you think about it. Can't really go into detail without spoilers.

I feel like this one in particular should get a revote sometime next month. Based on FFXIII alone...

6.5/10. Is likable in the scenes shes in, and is great as Snow's (and to a slightly lesser extent Light's) motivation in the story, but beyond that, shes essentially damsel in distress for the entire game. (yes, crystal sleep counts)

...Yeah, I ****ing HAAAAAAATE her in Dissidia, both from storyline and gameplay. Is it really any wonder that she was the first victim to a level 100 Feral Chaos to Fighting Fate in my game when I got the FF13 music? Really?

6/10. Is pretty neat storyline wise... right up until after Cosmo Canyon when he just seems to lose relevance to the plot. Battle hes just okay. Loses a small bit of score for being reduced to Cait's Steed in AC.

5. Honestly, every time she does something cool (MACHINE GUN **** YEAH), she does something to make me hate her SOMEWHERE down the road (Apologize DURING A MISSION WHERE YOUR ROLE IS VITAL.). Her limit's much the same; some of hers are easy to get (DEGENERATOR), others are nightmarishly hellish to get (Shockwave Pulsar.) I equal parts like her and hate her, so yeah, right down the middle.
