I don't really see what's so bad about his post there. It doesn't come off as him saying that people who read slowly are stupid. Just that they read slowly.

Also, I haven't read this topic at all, but does anyone else feel that Vol. 9, albeit still pretty damned good, was just far too passive altogether?

It has a lot of filler, but some of the songs are so good that they make up for it. It's not the best album but you'll probably grow to like it a lot, like I did.

I've tried to listen to that song a few times, but I never get further than 20 seconds in before the cheese becomes unbearable and I have to turn it off. Don't know why people like it.

I imagine the people who give the characters voices while reading are slow readers. I read very fast, so if I tried to imagine their voices while reading they would all be Yuki Nagato speak. Like inaudibly fast robot voices.

I can't imagine Homestuck characters having voices. No human actor would be able to live up to these characters. Their dialogue is just text in my head.

Ahahaha I figured it out. The entire flash will be Hussie stalking Vriska while Hussie Hunt plays. 10/10.

I was counting acapella Midnight Crew as a not serious song btw. Those are usually fun. See also: How do I Live.

Let's just hope none of the solo albums are vocal ones. Vocal Homestuck songs that try to be serious are all horrible without exception. So cheesy.

Anyway, do we still assume that the music for the next flash will be by Malcolm Brown? Maybe we could take a look at some candidates to speculate on what the flash will be about. It might just as well be a completely new song, though.

-Encore: The most obvious pick if the flash focuses on the alpha kids. Could fit almost any upbeat scenario.

It would be natural to assume the flash will detail the new planets... but that usually happens at the beginning of an act so I doubt it.

Maybe the flash will be something going horribly wrong. The kids ending up in the wrong place or something. Whatever it is, I have a feeling it will be unexpected.

Neither did I before Homestuck happened. He's just some obscure actor who for some reason had his most(only?) famous role made legendary by Hussie, which makes it awesome to read his reactions when he reads the comic.

Yep, but like I wildly speculated earlier, if the song for the next flash is Dogfight then it would make sense. The beginning would have the kids enter while the Sburban Jungle part of the song plays, then it would follow multiple other events, including Jack fighting PM like the song is about, and whatever happened to those two trolls.

With the 4 alpha humans being together now and out of harm's way, the flash pretty much HAS to show some other things.

Well, this flash pretty much did everything most of us expected to be in the EOA flash.

It will obviously show everyone entering - maybe including the Condesce, through Dirk or Roxy's house. Entering from the future might lead to a different time in the Incipisphere, allowing her to take over before the kids get there.

Showing Aradia and Sollux is also still an option, along with uu waking up.

By the way, I suggest we cut off nominations when the flash hits. Suspense!

Well, most of those are pretty bad and some have much better versions to pick (why nominate Black Hole/Green Sun when we have Cascade, etc). I'll vote for some of them though.

I Wanna Be the Guy is the undisputed king of evil platforming, and also pays homage to dozens of classic games.

I once got a virus that shut down and uninstalled all my antivirus and antispyware, and if I went to any antivirus website to download new ones the virus would redirect me to identical sites that were in fact fake sites containing more viruses.

Gotta applaud their efforts there. Good thing I'm not stupid because I think most people would have been ****ed by that virus.

The solution was of course to identify the virus by taking note of which addresses it redirected me to, and finding a program made specifically to kill that virus. Those exist for the majority of the tough viruses around.

Ok then why don't we do that, it's not like we're in a rush here.

At least now it's easy to see which songs need more noms.

128-song bracket IMO. Even some of the +1 songs should definitely be in the contest, like Black Rose/Green Sun.

EDIT: Also, if you go with a 64-song bracket, votes for variations of the same song should be added together. Horschestra + STRONG version should just be combined as one entry (STRONG version) as should Showtime and the Imp version.

I think you have the problem in reverse here dude, because everyone else seems to think Cascade will win the contest too easily and that's why it should be banned.

Not saying that will happen, but people don't act like you're saying, even if they're not Homestuck fans. Cascade will not lose early.

If Cascade gets in, then the other 4 songs should not, or vice versa.

I agree, the songs should not be in individually. Cascade (Beta) and Flare only work well as part of a whole and SotDD is also better in Cascade.

Btw, is anyone keeping track of the nominations? It would be good if someone made a list of what we have so far so we know where to put our last votes.

I knew nothing about Homestuck before I read it, and I thought Hivebent was one of the best parts.

It depends on whether you normally enjoy reading I guess. Typical comic fans who don't have the patience or imagination for regular books are probably less likely to appreciate Hivebent's numerous walls of text.

Forcing yourself to get everything on your first visit to each world sounds like an incredibly tiresome way to play the game.

Go to the next world as soon as you have enough Jiggies/notes IMO

Mine requires me to have it plugged in at all times to play because it can't store the charge. Charge & Play indeed.

I also discovered that you can't connect it to a computer because for some inane reason they made it so the cable can't actually transfer data, just power.

Emerald is better than D/P and definitely worth playing. Better world and better Pokémon. Haven't played Platinum though, and D/P has better story and music.
