I'll stick with my original predictions; Parise re-signs with the Devils and Suter goes to Minny.

I wonder where Semin is going to sign. I wouldn't mind Anaheim taking a shot at him for $4-5 milllion per on a one or two-year deal. I haven't really heard which teams are interested in him - maybe he's heading to the KHL.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Hearing that Jaromir Jagr has agreed to one-year, $4.5-million deal with the Dallas Stars

Well, looks like Jagr really only cares about money. I never thought he would choose the Stars out all of teams but I highly doubt any other team offered him that much money. Dallas can afford it though and they've already made a few good moves this off-season.

On the Ducks front, I like the Allen signing but not the Souray signing (why didn't we just keep Visnovsky?). The good news is that both guys give us some size and toughness on the back end which we have been lacking for a few years.

I personally think ALL of those 8/10/12 year deals are incredibly stupid and every single one of them will come back to haunt the teams that gave them out. We've already seen it with guys like Luongo, DiPietro, Bryz, etc. Those long contracts are just way too risky and not worth the slightly lower cap hit.

Price is rumoured to be signing a 5-6 year deal at around or slightly over $6 mil per. Much safer contract in my opinion.

Also, at 5.8 million per year, does this mean Quick is making less than Price?

Well Price is an RFA at the moment so technically he isn't making anything right now! He was getting paid 2.2 mil on his last deal though.

And Quick isn't getting $5.8 per. He's likely getting $7 mil+ for the majority of the contract and then peanuts for the last few years to bring the cap hit down to $5.8. It's one of those deals.

Yeah like the Ducks. We have a lot of holes to fill and a ton of cap room (although we do have an internal budget of around $55-57 mil). Murray must plan on spending a ton in free agency even though it's a relatively weak UFA class (and let's be realistic Parise and Suter have zero interest in coming to Anaheim).

Right. They'll buy a few years of UFA by overpaying a bit. Pretty standard move.

The Pavelic deal is fine, could even be a good deal for the Jets in a few years. Price at $6 million is fine as well - he IS one of the best goalies in the league.

Quick is getting LESS THAN TWO with two years left on his deal!

Quick was an RFA when he signed that deal and wasn't what is he is now. He'll be getting $5-7 mil per after next year.

Brandon Sutter was the main piece in that deal. He's a great 3rd line centre and is still very young. Time will tell if Pouliot is any good, although it was a bit of a reach for the Pens to take him at #8.

Imagine if Jordan Subban goes to Toronto next year.

Surprised the Ducks only got a 2nd rounder for Lubo. We have a ton of cap space now - I wonder if we're going after Suter? Bit of a head scratching trade since we are already short on defenceman, especially ones of the offensive variety like Visnovsky. Lots of pressure on Fowler next year!

I really hope we don't trade Bobby.

Thats what makes RNH deserve it. More points in less games. Joke awards.

Except Landeskog is a much better all-around player than RNH. He easily led his team in hits and +/- and was fantastic defensively. He also led all rookies in takeaways, hits, and numerous other categories.

So the problem is because of 1.5% of the contest.

But 95% of the people on the site don't even make a bracket so the only thing they care about and notice is the winner.

*spoilers below*

I wouldn't say the show has gotten better each season, but I'm not really sure how I would rank the seasons. I thought season 5 started off a little slow. It definitely picked up near the end with the last few episodes having some pretty shocking moments. I'm sad that Lane is gone because he was one of my favourite characters. Megan is pretty meh. I don't like Betty so I'm glad we didn't get as much of her. She did have some funny moments when she was on the phone this season though and she was actually likeable in the episode where Sally had her period. Speaking of Sally, she's pretty awesome - the creator's of the show really lucked out with the actress who plays her. Don was okay this season - a little more tamed and subdued than in past seasons because he was settled down with Megan. The final scene hinted that we might get a return to the old Don in Season 6. Roger was awesome as always - he's definitely one of my favourite characters. I wonder how far they will take his LSD storyline. Peggy is another one of my favourites and I liked that she finally stood up and left SCDP. I hope we still see enough of her next season though.

Weber gets robbed of the Norris for the second straight year. Not that I mind Karlsson winning though.

Edit: Pierre Lebrun says that the vote was insanely close, just like last year. Karlsson edged Weber by a 1,069 to 1,057 vote count (12 points). Last year, Lidstrom beat out Weber by just 9 points. Poor Weber.
