I just find it funny that in a league where more than 50% of the teams make the playoffs, YET AGAIN less than half of the Canadian teams will.
Unfortunately, Toronto and Toronto West (Calgary) won't be making the playoffs anytime soon because of their terrible management, so that makes it kind of hard to bring that percentage up.

Oh my god what an amazing game yesterday! Avs tying it with 2 seconds left then winning in the shootout, so awesome! I have a bad feeling we will lose tonight though.
I find the schedule terrible. We've played the most games in the league so far, yet we still get a jam packed month of March before getting 5 days off in a row in April. Ridiculous.

They finished first in the East last year, and got Vokoun as a new starting goalie (who is one of the best in the league usually). Taking them to win the division was almost a given preseason.

Great day yesterday! Not only did Colorado win, but there was no loser points given out anywhere last night. Avs won, Kings, Flames, and Ducks all lose in regulation. I'm just hoping Dallas loses tomorrow to Pittsburgh to make them lose their game in hand on us.

Buffalo is probably the biggest winners of the day. Hodgson for Kassian is a big upgrade for the next year or two. Uh, obviously the terrible employees ought to be disciplined separately. But not giving good workers the chance to have more hours is ridiculous.
A lot of times, good employees turn terrible because of terrible work conditions. I'm going by my store (Toys R' Us) as an example. After Christmas, a "full time" employee will get 32 hours a week. A veteran employee (one who has been there more than 2 years) will get 20 hours. Everyone else will get between 4 to 16 hours. Every year it's the same thing. No hours because we didn't sell enough, even though we received a record amount of product in our store (we usually get 1 truck a week in dead months, last year there was a minimum of 3 a week, with close to 7 during the lead up to Christmas). Every year the annual raises get cut back because our inventory is terrible, and every year more and more great workers yell at customers/managers because of all the stress they get for working minimum hours for minimum wage.
I know it's not the same everywhere, but I guarantee just about every major retailer/grocery store in Ottawa is in the same boat.

Just about every retail store is feeling the same right now. They don't realize how stupid a cycle they're getting themselves into by skeleton booking. They cut hours to a bare minimum, people get demoralized and don't care about the job. Stuff gets stolen, crappy service, returned items go unchecked, managers getting extremely pissed off at employees, who then go and do even less work. Until companies start giving employees proper hours/pay, they should expect terrible losses like that every year.

Getting an abortion is a very tough thing to do. All those "invasive techniques" are still used to actually do the abortion, but before all that the woman has to get vaginally probed for no reason whatsoever.

This point was brought up on Bill Maher last week. There's really no point to it other then embarrassing the woman. The ultrasound is a nicer way of saying "probing a woman's vagina". A lot of people say that that's fine, but if it comes to say... probing a guys ass if he gets an STD, a lot of opinions quickly change.
Unfortunately, some States are just so pro-religion and so anti-evolution (not evolution of the world just evolution of culture) that these "ideas" are quickly being put to law without much hesitation.
