I haven't played 4 yet but in terms of mechanics I think they've gotten progressively better. Story is free-standing, but I think they've really declined in that aspect since the first one. Mao and whatever his name was from two were both really poor compared to Laharl. Probably because at least the guy from two was quite a bit more serious than the first one. 4 has the best story and characters imo. I think my problem with "Refuse" is it's kind of a big middle finger to people that didn't like the endings concepts. I'd have preferred if they didn't add that at all and just gave Shepard less of a choice and more of an explanation of why s/he HAD to choose one.
Or they could have just been not-dumb and had the refusal option, given a high enough EMS (like, REALLY high) result in the reapers losing in a battle but devastating the galaxy in the process like some people wanted. -- http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/2664/7b7aaa038007832d461b28c.jpg |

Okay so I do like all 3 of the original endings more after this change. There doesn't seem to be as many plot holes, and while it's still kinda DEM-y it's not as bad. I still wish the stuff leading up to it on Earth was better, but it's not really 'torches and pitchforks' worthy anymore as a whole, and the actual endings themselves are pretty okay.

Dirk: 2x Corpsesmooch combo coming up? The irony being that none of them are Jake, of course. No actually what needs to happen is Dirk can wake up in his regular body, go kiss and save Roxy, but can't in his dream body for some reason. Then, Roxy will wake up as her dreamself and book it over to Jane and kiss her just in time, thus fueling more Jane x Roxy fanart. Because it needs to happen. Just as a warning, if you take door number 1 you'll get an ending people generally agree you shouldn't get (like... at all, because it's retread in another ending so much it even gives you credit for seeing that one when you see the other).

Yeah I tried nuzlocking White once and it basically went the same way.

Not sure why King would be the best difficulty though, Prince is the one where everything is even. Well no, it's actually not, because the player is human <.< The AI needs the handicap to be a challenge to someone that knows what they're doing. It's a remake of FE3, the sequel to FE1. (FYI, FE3 came with a remake of FE1 but it still had a sequel in it).
And like I said you shouldn't judge it based on Shadow Dragon because a lot of the missteps they made there are fixed in it and they added a bunch of cool things people wanted like supports. Also, it was the game that introduced the concept of "My Unit". There's a translation patch in progress for it fyi, and it's pretty much done. So, you're saying UU and uu are in the Furthest Ring somehow? And yet they're not in the game? And despite time not existing in the furthest ring, this sun has gone red giant and is at the end of its lifespan? We don't actually know it's a red giant at the end of its lifespan. It could, you know, just be a red colored star. Homestuck isn't exactly known for being scientifically accurate. This is just a normal star, and will function as the Cherubs' incentive to enter the game because it's about to blow up. It could, you know, be both. Or neither. But it clearly is related in some way, whether as a counterpoint to it or as the same thing later on, ESPECIALLY with the red/green opposites point. Let me ask you, when was the last time Hussie introduced something like this that has such an obvious correlation to something that already exists that WASN'T relevant?
