One thing about Paper Mario I started disliking post- TTYD is the music.

SPM and beyond have this overly quirky music and its kinda lame, and this song fits the bill of being overly quirky

eh the music is honestly the best thing about the post-TTYD games. Origami King in particular has great music. the problem with the TTYD remixes is that the original songs were simple midi arrangements and the new soundtrack incorporates so many different instruments, oftentimes at once and it's just too much. some of the lower sewer levels have different music which incorporates the motif of the crystal star theme underneath the main sewer theme and it's like I don't need all that man

I'm only halfway through chapter 2 of the remake, but it feels like a really mixed bag, and I feel like by the end i'll be saying it's more misses than hits. the most egregious example so far is Prof Frankly's theme with that godawful kazoo that sounds straight out of recent Yoshi games. irredeemably bad.

i do love the idea of the battle theme changing depending on location tho

FF7 is a game that is very succinct, especially with its script and the remake is basically all the worst things about JRPG's that the original did not have
