Not bad enough to not be able to go out and have dinner/drinks with my friend, but no wiggle room. Four friends and myself hung out at a bar and all ran up very respectful, normal tabs. Mine was about $60. I was invited and somehow none of the party knew it was cash only, so my plan to use a card failed spectacularly. Literally everyone but me was carrying cash, but luckily there was an ATM in the bar. I ran my card alone to withdraw $80. The machine said transaction failed. No big deal, I must have fat-fingered my pin. I run it again and it says transaction failed. I look at my bank account, which has now been hit for $160, and no cash is in my hands. Bartender didn't believe me, friends didn't believe me, they basically publically shamed me for being broke, I never hung out with any of them again. I got my money back a week later with the ATM audit came back with a belt error and it had excess cash in it vs the queried deposits. so how did you end up paying your tab? --- "Sometimes they even attack wounded foxes"

I've gone to all of them (they are held at five-year increments), some of my siblings', and all of my wife's (different school; also at at five-year increments). They are usually held at nice places (or with good catering, if held at the school), and everybody has chilled out and become friendly (or stays away). yeah i guess, chilled out. We were never as close but at least what I had with my second friend was genuine. As for my third grade "best friend," I have no idea what happened to him. And I don't really care either. I don't hate him or anything, I mean we were kids and I do understand it. If I bumped into him we would probably just exchange cordial, slightly awkward greetings and that would be it. Maybe he changed. If he bacame a good person and he's happy, good for him I guess. Although if I found out he was the type who betrayed people around him I sure wouldn't be surprised. supposedly that is extremely common though, one friend leaves to join the in crowd, happened a little to me too. --- "Sometimes they even attack wounded foxes"

At first high school was also rough, like I said, but gradually I made real friends and my last year of high school was actually very happy. I also had some great friends in college and afterwards.
