All these remasters and ports we see these days. I cant believe Ive never thought of a proper remake of older Zelda games. We see it all the time with other franchises. The thoughts of a proper remake / reimagining of OOT does make me giddy. Ngl.

It's not just about the blocky graphics, but has to do with the archaic controls, the unskippable cut scenes, the slow dialogue, the slow animations. So much waiting...and waiting.

Playing through OoT is a slog. Meanwhile A Link to the Past has aged perfectly and it's just as fun to play today as it was when it was released.

tbh graphics aside I kinda feel ALTTP has aged a bit worse, but that's more on how slippery it always felt to me and how I prefer LA and the Capcom games' design

From what I hear, it can really trigger people who don't like that different force sensitive groups might have slightly different philosophies on how the force works (the night witches apparently are at least somewhat in the forefront and their philosophy apparently sounds a bit different from Jedi and Sith).

I didnt hate the game but it was utterly forgettable to me. As with most of the boost series aside from unleashed.

The story and characters are what mostly carried the 3D sonic games contrary to popular belief.

As for this game its probably just an excuse to retcon shadows backstory perhaps and help promote the next sonic movie. Which im pretty worried about as it will either make or break his character for the new generation(s) of fans likely.

Nah seems like more of a "Shadow generations" type of thing. Doubt they'll retcon his backstory, just a "somehow Black Doom returned", some nostalgia shenanigans with cool levels and bosses, then beating black doom, and the end

If they don't want to go back to it, they should outsource it, tbh. Get a dev team that's excited to work on Sonic and ask them if they could do an Adventure remake.

It's weird since Frontiers Final horizon REALLY seemed to hint at it. Tails and Knuckles played really similarly to back in Adventure, they made those Tails boost rings, etc

That's the thing, we don't know what Luke was doing, so in that regard, him not being there for tfa is fine.

It's how they handle the setup that's the problem.

tbh the actual big mistake with him (and Leia for that matter) was just destroying the new republic and putting things back to reheated Rebels vs Empire. That was basically saying "yeah nothing in the OT mattered"

I did it last night. It sure was weird. I'm not really sure how it fits into what Deltarune is going for besides the fact that Undertale also had an evil route. It also makes the relationship between the player and Kris less clear to me. Squaring that circle is probably pretty important to understanding what is fully going on. Like, apparently slashing the tires is mission critical enough to manually make sure the player can't fuck it up, but whether or not you ruin the lives of two of their classmates is whatever?

It's also that it really seems Kris was scared from that, since Susie said they look distressed once you regroup. Guessing there's a limit to how much they can regain control?

i mean the wind waker stuff is something that was theorized but we really didn't know

quite a bit more to it, especially with the kind of stuff you gotta do to get to said sequence. Also if you go that route and want an extra creepy scene,equip Kris with Noelle's watch before that sequence, and go to the hospital once you return to the light world

Tbh even the igniting of the lightsaber could've been maybe excused if Ben had actually done something evil instead of just Luke having a vision.

Starting in cold steel you couldn't check empty chests anymore. They probably would have done it if they could for at least CS1/2. Someone else took over localization after that.

Force users are Mary Sue kinda in general. They are simply better than non Force users.

Mary Sue discourse a lot of times feels like people don't understand the term. It's not about a character being powerful, or even unreasonably powerful, but about them being deemed and portrayed as flawless and infallible by the narrative. It's why characters like Luke or Goku really aren't seen like that (though Goku did kinda get there with the TOP arc bending over backwards to excuse his actions as a good thing), while characters like Rey or Kirito (SAO main character guy)+the dozens of bargain bin light novel protags he inspired are counted as Sues.

For what it's worth with Rey, I'll always say TLJ is the closest the ST got to making her into an actual character, despite all my issues with the movie

Thing is, while this is far more on TFA than TLJ due to it wanting to be a remake of episode 4 (plus TRoS bringing back Palpatine), the status quo being reset to basically Rebels vs Empire made it feel like everything that happened in the OT was for nothing. In the end not even one lifetime after we ended up in the same place we were before, as if the original rebellion and the new republic had never happened. Anything not just Luke did, but Leia and Han too was pretty much completely erased. The Rey movie being supposedly about a new jedi order just cements it further, we're back at how things were post-RotJ, so in the end it's like the OT never happened.

My only problem with Luke in that movie was Point 3.

He learned the dangers of acting on impulse when he roflstomped Vader and then got the shit shocked out of him by Palpy.
He was willing to bet everything - the Rebellion, The Jedi Order, his own life - on the hope that Vader would come back around to the light.
But when he has a vision that Benjamin Solo is going to the dark side, he almost kills him in his sleep.

I'm not buying it. Not saying he wouldn't be afraid/concerned or whatever, just that his approach would have been different based on the last time we saw him in action.

Yeah like, Ben had literally done nothing, that's what makes the whole thing extra dumb. Not the biggest fan of how TLJ handled Luke, but if they had changed this part it would've been far better since at least it would've been in-character.

Btw, play Another Day. It has some cool content and you can get Sho back, though you have to swap someone off of your party to do so. Don't worry at that point you can freely switch, though it's kinda annoying since you have to go back to Another Day to do so

Oh yeah I've seen that video, it's one I mostly agree with even if calling TLJ "anti meat" was weird lmao. But yeah it fully illustrates how the ST fails as sequels and as a trilogy. Also helps that he's an actual SW analyst instead of a grifter machine churning out hate videos.

Dude, the game runs like ass because it's programmed like ass. This is the console that can run BotW and TotK without major issues, and SMO at a consistent 60fps. All being games that look far better, and the former two being open worlds with complex physics

How many hours is the regular story? The DLC as well. Average time to make a competitive Pokemon not counting perfect IV's?

I'd say about 15-20 for the regular story, probably 5-10 more for both DLCs combined, it depends on how much you spend messing around and catching stuff and all. probably like 1 hour for a mon? You can get perfect IVs easily too due to bottle caps

one of the most fun pokemon games with probably the best character writing in the series........but in the technical side it's absolute garbage. Also generally lacking in content to do unless you wanna replay and stuff.

As for the DLCs, Teal Mask is whatever aside from a cool ending, while Indigo Disk is pretty much the base game's best and worst aspects amplified:

Looks and runs worse than ever before (I got multiple straight up freezes), the sidequests are MMO stuff, still no full on battle facility, and the lore doesn't come together very well, but the character writing is top notch, running around is fun, and it genuinely has the best designed battles in the whole series, even the random trainers
