Last week's album, despite me listening to it 3 times during the ranking week, is turning into one of those things where my favorite song gradually pushes the rest of the album out of my consciousness and becomes the main thing that I associate with the band. I don't think that I've gone a day without listening to Megitsune at least once since my initial listen. I should try listening to the other Babymetal albums before this phase passes to see if any other songs can rival it.

GB Tetris has way better music than NES Tetris.

I would vote for Qwilfish over Totodile and Articuno, but I don't want to support Volcanion.

It is remarkable how Wario Land morphed classic platformer gameplay into something that felt unique and non-traditional compared to what was out there at the time... And then Wario Land 2 managed to change it even more to the point where the jump from WL1->WL2 feels even larger than the jump from SML2->WL1, and makes 1 feel standard in comparison.

There is allegedly a Splatoon reference in Take, but ironically the beginning of Portals immediately gave me similar vibes to Splatoon.

Megitsune - The main riff (e.g. 0:14) sold me on the song. And actually in the few days between my first album listen and me writing this ranking, this song has only floated further away from the rest as my undisputed #1.

line! - This song sounds like it was stitched together from pieces of different songs. It's a bit frustrating, not because I don't like the sudden changes, but because they all sound so good that it makes me wish that I could hear longer versions of each of them.

Doki Doki Morning - Yup this is exactly how I'd imagine a song called Doki Doki Morning to sound.

Onedari Daisakusen - This song sounds a bit different than most of them but it still works and that chorus is really catchy.

Also, I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but at the bottom of the page, below the normal site footer, is another footer bar that literally has broken images which appear to be some sort of Fandom tracking thing.

Did you guys see the one that was a gap in between posts and it's in the background layer as you scroll down, like parallax scrolling?

In Mario Tennis I had 2 files, one where I split my exp evenly between both characters and one where I pumped everything into the main player (and left my partner at level 1). Eventually I decided to make the second file my main one and continued grinding my player all the way to level 99. Once I hit that I started leveling the partner and it turned into an ongoing project. To this day I still occasionally pick up the game and play a handful of matches against Mario just to grind exp for my partner. (I should check what level she is now).

The writeup is also missing any mention of the 9 minigames, 8 of which are relatively fun score challenges (although of a few of them are trivial to max at 9999 points which limits their replayability).

It took me like 3 listens to figure out whether or not I actually liked The Kingdom. I guess I do in the end. I don't hate Do Anything like others apparently do, and I was gonna vote for it if I didn't settle on Kingdom.

I should have done the Wario Land 2 writeup because I have a lot that I could (and probably will) say when that gets posted. As a kid I didn't enjoy WL3 as much as 2 (despite them running on the same engine and having identical graphics, which was something that I did like in games back then) due to the vast structural changes between the games, mainly the stuff that I just posted. As an adult I can recognize the objective good qualities of the game and the fact that I probably didn't "get" it due to my age, but I do not have the soft spot for 3 like I do for some of the others.

I like this trend of nominating Einhander songs nearly every year now. But Badlands is my least preferred of the 3 that have been in so far, and when you do this to the match... Yeah, RIP. It's fine if it wins though.

Les Enfants du Paradis started cool and I immediately had this thought of "please don't let vocals start and ruin this". But then they didn't and it stayed solid.

Yeah uhh the left side has 5 Pokemon who I actively dislike so this is one of the most blatant cases of "my tastes are the opposite of popular opinion".

Album comments: This album has cool electronic sounds and I can totally understand why it's popular. However, my problem is that it's too slow for me. My musical tastes tend to favor faster songs, and in an album like this it makes it difficult for me to stay engaged or to differentiate the songs from each other. As a result I expect that my ranking will be fairly opposite to most people's who are able to appreciate the slower songs more. I just can't handle them, unfortunately.
