I had a discussion at the bar about this. We all came up with sand worms and spice. I thought I was alone too, but none of us could explain the plot.

Fun fact:
The first Dune adaptation back in the 80s came with a spoiler-free pamphlet handed to you upon purchasing a ticket. It explained parts of the movie that the director never got to but were considered important for understanding the plot. That's the sign of a bad adaptation and makes you appreciate the LOTR trilogy for what it accomplished considering LOTR was also once deemed unfilmable.

It's got that weird Soap Opera effect that I can't describe with words but is incredibly off-putting.

IIRC soap operas film at 60fps on digital cameras while films and television are around 24fps.

From my understanding, AI art falls to pieces when it's sample basis comes from its own art and not actual works by humans. It kind of is already happening. One of the believed reasons AI had a shit time drawing hands was because the artist's it sampled from also find drawing hands to be difficult. It copies the mistakes that humans make.

Their choice to use the word balance was probably a mistake because it often leads to this misunderstanding, but this is what Lucas intended the lore to be.

IIRC it's due to the EU novels and how writers (influenced by fandom) treated the force like the Eastern concept of Yin and Yang by introducing grey jedi.

Lucas rarely dealt with the EU, but when he learned about why grey jedi existed, he forced subsequent writers to retcon the Yin-Yang Force as being wrong. Nearly every grey jedi introduced in the EU has fallen to the Dark Side to drive that point home. It pissed off several EU fans who liked the concept of the Dark Side not being inherently evil.

It's interesting that Disney seems to be going with the Yin-Yang Force idea. It must drive Lucas crazy.

If you want amazingly soft, rich cornbread from a box of Jiffy mix, add a 1/3 cup of sour cream to the 1/3 cup of milk. Then add 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

The Japanese idol industry is not as toxic as the Korean one but that's not saying much.

The father of the J-pop boy band industry was a pedophile who raped the underage members of the bands he managed. I wonder how much worse is the K-pop industry to top that?

This reminded me that Blizzard's analytics on the Mass Effect series revealed that Americans had a high preference to play Paragon on their first play through. The rest of the world it's more mixed between Paragon and Renegade.

Wondering if it's related to the whole villain-protagonist thing.
