Now that I think about it, every character is using the same gear I've had since level one but Karlach has a blue axe, blue gloves and a green helment and boots. Derp.

Just not come across any good gear for anyone else though.
Are you asking to trade with everyone that has the option? Cause you definitely should be. The best equipment is usually from "dungeon crawling" and beating side quests, but most merchants also frequently have good to great equipment that can help your party. Even if it's not a perfect fit for that characters play style, every stat boost can help a lot/add up.

Virtually all the classes get way better once you hit level 5, but your character builds and equipment could also be a factor.

Make sure you're either using equipment that is helping how you're playing the character, or play the character a little different that leans into your equipment bonuses.

Also don't be afraid to use scrolls and potions; are they technically a limited commodity, kinda, but between random pick ups and all the various merchants you can restock all but the super rare ones very easily.

TopicI'm considering getting my first tattoo in the next few months
JKwaffle
08/20/25 3:16:33 PM
#1
Always at least vaguely wanted one, but never pulled the trigger for a few reasons. The main ones being money, being indecisive as to what I would actually want permanently on my body, and a mild fear of needles.

But the older I get the more I wanna just say fuck it and go for it. Im a big movie guy so I was considering getting something from one of my favorites, but was struggling to pick something specific. Then last night me and my girlfriend watched the Shin Godzilla theatrical rerelease and I was just like "Shit, there's my answer." Past couple years I've been marathoning the entire franchise and it's quickly become one of my all time favorites. Not necessarily the most unique tattoo, I know, but it's a character and franchise I do genuinely love and don't see myself ever completely 180ing and hating Godzilla or anything like that down the line.

For those who have gotten tattoos, couple of questions:

I'm still a bit wary of needles/know it can be decently painful depending on pain tolerance and where you get tattooed. Was thinking maybe getting the tattoo on my upper arm; that's considered not too bad of a spot pain-wise right? Also figured with it being my first tattoo I want it to be something I can look at myself without a mirror, but also easy to cover up if I need to. I work restaurants so I'm not worried about being unable to get work cause of it, but still.

Money wise, how much should I plan to put aside? Not sure exactly what size the tattoo will be yet, probably won't be huge but I don't want it to be tiny either. Am I looking at 500ish or should I be ready to drop upwards of a grand? Also how much tip is generally expected, 20% of the tattoo cost or is it higher for tattoos?

I have a lot of friends who have gotten good tattoos and I live in a pretty big city so I'm not too concerned with finding a good artist, but as for the process how does it usually go down? Do I just call them, tell them I want a Godzilla tattoo and maybe some vague ideas I have for it, or is there a more intricate process?

Sorry for the wall of text, definitely overthinking it a bit, but the more I think about it the more I think I wanna just go for it.

While there are a couple exceptions for the most part Tales is not turn based. Are you sure you aren't mixing it with the Trails series? (Legend of Heroes)
Its possible; Ive just been itching for a non-early FF or Persona turn based game for a while, especially one from the early-mid 2000s; Takes Of seemed like a good choice since it seems like most of their stories are standalone like FF, but I guess I got the gameplay mixed up with one of the other series I was considering. Whoopsie.

Still seems fun and gonna play it, working through the temple right now, will play more when I get off work.

The Doctor is definitely good. Robert Picardo is a fantastic actor and that goes a long way but also the concept was a smart way to have a character who is an artificial life form without it just being a retread of Data.

One episode I like that I don't see talked about much is the one where the Doctor creates a holographic family. It's interesting how he completely misses the point at first and it's when B'Elanna reprograms them that he actually learns something because in reality you can't just program a perfect family for yourself and you have to take people as they are.
I agree that its an underrated episode. I remember watching it as a teenager and it definitely had an impact.

he's alright, he's also made better by the fact that VOY has a lot of shit characters.

Agree with both of these, M'Benga is great, a bit of a weird backstory but i like how they play with it. And he's fantastic with Chapel too. Culber is also great, Disco has a lot of problems but i do think it has a lot of fun characters including Culber
Honestly the only character that super duper sucks is Neelix; all the rest of them have lots of good moments throughout, I just really wish the writing team for Voyager had any fucking clue how to keep characters and arcs consistent, almost every character has multiple moments of total whiplash in their development that does a pretty big disservice to pretty much every character. The Doctor def gets hit the least with writing issues, but even he didnt walk away unscathed.

I need to watch more SNW, Ive only seen a couple eps but I already love MBenga.

Also hope youre doing well man, its been a long time.

Dont get me wrong, I love me some Bones. Crusher is decent, Pulaski is ok. Bashir and the guy for Enterprise are fine. But Voyagers Doctor has such a good blend of sassiness, genuine character depth, and just a damn good character arc. Voyager has some rough spots, but the Doctor is a legit great ST character.

Its generally considered the worst episode in Voyager, and people that hate Voyager always reference it for why they think Voyager sucks.

Personally, I love Voyager, it was the first Star Trek I watched all the way through, start to finish. And theres WAY worse episodes than Threshold, even if it is batshit. Star Trek is often at its best when its batshit tbh.

They're not all the same genre, they vary. The ones I mentioned are a legal drama with romance about an autistic attorney and a sort of soft romance show with coming-of-age stuff about two identical twins who swap places because one of the twins was going through burn out and depression. But they get pretty introspective in that show that's not something I'm used to in western shows.

But there's a K-drama on Hulu named Revenant that's about a deadly Revenant ghost that killed a womans father and she's trying to find out why. So it's a mystery/thriller.
Fair enough; honestly all of those sound pretty interesting, might have to check them out.
