V Rising's got a lot of free updates (only cosmetics are paid) over the years, very fun game to play with friends. my favorite thing is that they've finally implemented better storage and crafting- there's dedicated chests for certain types of materials, you can craft from chests, and lategame there's automation. I forget if you can quickly stash to all nearby containers in vanilla now, I used a mod for that

if you play solo you might want to amp up the drop rates and lower the timers, though

to pick a few of my most recently played games, looking at USD prices:
historical best sale for dynasty warriors origin is $52 on steam, $43 on fanatical
armored core 6, $36 vs $30
atelier yumia, $49 vs $42
elden ring, $36 vs $30
ace combat 7, $6 vs $4

you can very consistently get games ten to twenty percent cheaper off steam, and way cheaper than that if you're willing to try the sketchy websites that fudge around with regional pricing (I don't, there's risk involved there). at best they match prices (yakuza pirates and hundred line did; I've noticed it with a lot of japanese games)

the margin might not be enough for many people to care, but when talking about better or worse, steam sales do tend to be the "worst" offered, looking at both historical and current prices. the benefit's that there's no middleman, but the popular authorized key sellers are basically just buying a game from walmart or something

It's not like Steam Sales where the prices are all pretty much consistent across the board so when there's a big sale, you know the value you're getting.

to be entirely fair, the best steam sales are usually from third party vendors, so the steam website's sales are often shit even if they're the lowest of all time. you'd probably get a better deal buying off gamebillet or fanatical for mostly anything on sale, sometimes significantly so. even brand new games are often $10 off

oot randomizer's pretty easy to set up, just use a preset, maybe enable plentiful item pools, and randomize the shit out of that music (possibly sound effects and tunic colors)

oot randomizers (and I'm assuming many others with logic gating) aren't fun because of variety imo, they're fun because they're like a neat puzzle centered around a game you already know. every item you find opens up a little more to go check out

But yeah, touhou games rock. My favorite's Mystia's Izakaya, though Touhou Soccer 2 was a big part of my teenage years

been playing Labyrinth of Touhou 2, which is sorta like Etrian Odyssey but with fixed characters. there's a lot of them and they all have gimmicks, and all the bosses do too

also been reading a ton of light novels. there's so much I had to catch up on, I've probably read one volume a day for the past month or two. currently on the quiet blacksmithing life isekai, might try to catch up on the stuff airing this season

specifically it's Matsuno, the guy who really loves his vision of Ivalice. he directed FF12 (ivalice), FFTA (pseudo-Ivalice), vagrant story (intended to be ivalice), and came back and directed a FFXIV raid tier centered around Ivalice fanboying a couple years ago. that's the point, they've changed how they count viewership of adblocked videos, there wasn't actually any change in viewership. monetization remained the same and only PC viewership was affected

it was scary to creators because they thought they'd fucked up somehow so it became a big deal, but it was just a change in how youtube presents data. and it coincided with a change in how youtube blocked adblock plus, so it might have just been unintentional

I'm only really fine with it if there's save slots for party/equipment formations. Have been playing Labyrinth of Touhou 2 which heavily uses this design, and it's not too bad, though doing respecs on characters is more annoying than it should be. Every fight is some specific gimmick you have to counter with a team of 12 out of your 30+ unique characters, but it's usually just bringing the right character- so you can change your party formation as much as you want for the fight and just load your usual formation afterwards.
