No, they're illegal where I live. Funnily enough though, most cars these days have built in navigation which comes equipped with a warning signal.

There's also an app you can download on your phone that does the exact same thing as a radar detector, witht he added bonus it also informs about traffic jams and accidents and stuff

That particular boss has a set attack pattern though. Pay attention for a few rounds and you can prepare for its next attack.

I'd probably do the same thing I always do when my boss tells me to do something I don't agree with.

Just do what I think is the best course of action, in this case, hire the person I'd consider best choice for the job and make sure I have a convincing argument as to why I did something else

Yep, that's the Netherlands for you. Back in the late 90s- early 00s there would be what was called the 'Methadon Bus' where heroin addicts could get free methadon, which apearantly has a rush similair to heroin which would be given out freely.

To aid you in the way things work here considering drugs, we were the first country in the world where smoking weed was not punishable, but even to this day, coffeeshops, the shops where weed is sold here, are not allowed to buy weed, nor are they allowed to have more than 5 plants themselves or have more than 500 grams in house (which is basically nothing for any half decent one).

The idea behind it in the 1960s was to lower crime rates, but with the above, anyone with more than half a braincell could figure out this does nothing to stop illegal growing or selling of weed, so yeah, that's the Netherlands for you

We give them free drugs in hopes they stop using, or at least, that's how it used to be no dea if that still happens now

No, but neither is the customer, nor the employer. People are responsible for their own lives. Don't get paid enough to live? Ask for a raise or get another job, it's that simple.

Only way things will ever change is by taking responsibilty for your own life and stop pointing at others or making up excuses

Customers and employers can both be wrong. Why can't you guys just follow societal norms and fight to change them in the meantime?

Normally I don't even bother starting to read 150+ post topics, but this is quite an interesting one.

I have a simple solution: If your employer doesn't pay you enough to live, find another job.

If your employer starts raising their prices to 'be able' to pay a living wage, then the customers should en masse not go back to that establishment, forcing the owner to lower their prices making less profit or shut down entirely.

Problem with this is people will need to start taking responsibility for their own lives instead of making exuses so they can point to others.

That said, the country I live in doesn't have any % based system. If I eat in a restaurant and the service is good, the waitress gets 10 euros, if not, she gets nothing.

Same with food delivery. If they charge delivery costs, no tip. If they don't and the food is on time 2-5 euros depending on what I have lying around in change. Be more than 5 minutes late, no tip
