I keep seeing people complaining how unprecedented it is for Nintendo to announce DLC before release but its not. They announced DLC for BotW and Smash Ultimate before both games released. And Xenoblade. And a million other things. But suddenly NOW its a problem.

I actually dont think getting the Kalos starter mega stones will be that bad. It sounds like you dont even need to win to rank up. That its based on participation. Its a 1v1v1v1 casual mode, not VGC, I dont think it will be difficult to get them.

$30 DLC is ridiculous though.

Finished Scarlet. Been spamming raids for Herba. Will continue to do so until the event ends.

Also started a playthrough of Leaf Green today. Im excited havent played it in 20 years, I remember liking it a lot. Picked Bulbasaur. Im thinking my team will be Venusaur, Raichu, Nidoking, Gengar, Arcanine and Vaporeon.

Finally cracked open Scarlet, been playing through it to complete my Gen 8 dex and do some shiny hunting. Have 1 gym and 2 starfall streets left. My team is Glimmora, Sylveon, Ampharos, Cetitan, Talonflame Meowscarada. Gonna spam a ton of raids when Im done with the story to get Herba. Im also pretty sure if I just dont go online when the event is over that Ill keep Chi Yu raids but Ill have to solo them. Still, not worried.

Yeah basically Chi-Yu will be claimable in like 2 weeks, and well have a week to claim all 4 after that then theyre gone.

No. I played Hollow Knight for about 20 minutes, hated it. every room looked fucking identical and there were like ten different paths to go down and all of them were dead ends so I said fuck this game Im not dealing with this

I dont really care about Hollow Knight, just thought that was funny. But congrats to people that have been waiting like a decade or whatever for Silksong, you made it.

Playing PLA to shiny hunt the starters since I never did get those. This sucks. Ive literally never seen a single shiny in a massive mass outbreak. After hours of trying. And trying to hunt for the outbreak I want is tedious, then I go around the entire zone looking for the Pokmon. Then I catch all of them and no shiny. Repeat forever. The old method before the 1.1 update was so much more reliable for shiny hunting. I spent like a year shiny hunting on 1.0 because it was so fun and reliable.

Idk sports and people that obsess over sports are so boring. I worked at a university once in the residence life department. In the summer we would host camps. The football camps were always the worst. The parents were always rude af, and the kids would break things and demand instant gratification. What do you want from me? If you have a problem you have to go through the same process as everyone else, boohoo. Also I had to call the police on football camps every year because they would break vending machines or trash their rooms and break furniture. Like they thought we were as stupid as they were and that we wouldnt notice.

Looked through my PLA boxes. Turns out I had almost everything. Had to catch like ten things but other than what I had to catch Im missing Eevee, Magnemite, Magneton, and Darkrai. No idea why I had a Shaymin. I dont own BDSP so I must have traded for it but I have no memory of that.

But anyway would somebody let me touch trade a PLA Darkrai in Home tomorrow? That would be very helpful.

Okay I looked it up. Apparently no, Pokmon can totally freely move from SV to SwSh. Thats kinda crazy actually. Moves will change if you do that but whatever, getting the moves you want is really easy in Gen 8/9

Oh maybe it is different Home than Bank, I should give it a try. I just know in Bank once a Pokmon has been in a SMUSUM game they can no longer go into XYORAS. I just assumed it works the same in Home.

What I mean is, if getting the friendship evos is a pain in the ass because of needing to do camping and all that, how many are able to be transferred to, say, Scarlet or Violet, force fed a shitload of berries and evolved where the softcap doesn't exist, and then sent back to Sword/Shield? How many are even compatible?

For Pokemon like Golem and Gengar that needed to be traded, I would send them to PLA and given a link cable and then sent back. It was much faster and reliable than finding a potential trade partner and hoping they send my original back to me.

Oh I see. As far as I know, once a Pokmon has been in Scarlet/Violet they are no longer allowed back in a Gen 8 game? Maybe Im wrong, but I think thats how it works.

As far as I know, that error is specific to the cartridge, and only affects a relatively small handful of games. It doesn't indicate anything wrong with the system as a whole, so you probably don't have anything to worry about there.

Yeah I figure its just the cartridge since other games/apps are working. But that 3DS just feels like its on its last legs in general. I think I made the right call moving everything up. Last thing I would want is to move everything to say Ultra Moon which is saved to the console then the console dies. It is what it is, my Pokmon are safe.

Okay. I have good news and bad news. First, the bad news. The cartridge was again not working. I tried power cycling the console. I tried taking the cartridge out and putting it back in. I tried a different console. Errors every time. Now for the good news. I tried Bank. Bank worked. It read the cartridge no problem. My Pokmon were all alive and in tact. I decided that I did not know how long my 3DS would hold out in general. So I made the executive decision to move all of my Pokmon off the 3DS and into Home. I am disappointed that my Gen 6 ribbon hunting adventure was cut short so abruptly, and that I really didnt do any at all in Gen 7. But it is what it is, my Pokmon are alive and thats what matters. Everyone made it to Home safely and are in their proper spot in the box.

But, uh. I think my Omega Ruby with all my shinies died. I try to load the game and I get an error message Im scared. I was just playing it earlier. Wanted to power level a few shinies before bed. Ill try again tomorrow. Maybe I can pull my shinies out in Bank and move them up.

No those have been around for a few generations. But in Sword/Shield friendship is soft capped at a certain value by means other than camping. So at some point in the process you have to go camping.

Just a handful of evos and catches left and that Keldeo is mine. Mostly friendship evos and trade evos. I hate friendship evos in general, and theyre especially bad in gen 8 where you have to do the camping and curry stuff.

Chi Yu raids are now on! Also did some trading with a friend. He gave me the old event Zacian, Zamazenta and Eternatus shinies. I never knew about the Eternatus, and my local GameStop never got codes for the Zacian and Zamazenta so happy to finally have those

I think so? Initially they thought he suffered organ failure but last I heard the official cause of death was declared a heart attack.

Yeah he was kind of a lolcow but not on the same level as Chris Chan or WorldofHats. He would really play into the trolling and had fun with it. And he would mix weird concoctions and drink them on stream or eat weird food people sent him.

KingCobraJFS died recently. Its weird, Ive known of him for a long time, never watched him. I actually lived close to him, never met him, but I know people that did know him.

Only about 70 Pokmon away from completing the Galar dex. Also about 70 away on both the Armor and Crown dexes. I know there is some overlap between all three but not sure how much. Gonna try to complete those this weekend if I can. Debating if I want to pick up the SV DLC so I can get the Meloetta >.>
