It could. People don't think straight when they're panicking, but forcibly halting trading would force people to wait if they still want to sell. Increases likelihood of people using that break to stop and think, and maybe use the crash as an investment opportunity to buy in on. The fact that it's even that bad to start with is pretty severe though, and "slowing down" doesn't mean stopping either.

Also, idk if this is even going to stop at a recession - at the rate things are going, we'll probably end up with something on the level of the Great Depression, if not worse.

There's logic solutions too. Like if you declare that 0.9999 1, then 1 - 0.9999... should be 0.0000...1. But if the 9s continue for infinity, so too should the 0s before the 1. As such, you can never reach the end for the 1 to appear, effectively making it the same as just plain old 0. Then if 1 - 0.9999... = 0 and 1 - 1 = 0, then 0.9999... = 1

I bought an energy drink so I could avoid falling asleep at work (36h no sleep yesterday) but voted no money.

That said I've personally boycotted US products in general now. There's a buy Canadian movement here but for me it's a buy not-American thing. If an alternative exists, I'll take any other country, including China. China's too far gone, but the US can still be saved and hurting them financially is one way to put pressure on them for that. Also losing American jobs as a byproduct is just bad tasting medicine imo. Their people need to get mad. Way more mad than right now.

This, but especially if the money you're supporting them with is being used to help them do bad things. For example, if some musician is an asshole, and the money is helping him buy another fancy car or house upgrade or whatever, then I'm not going to be huge about giving them money but I'm also not really too fussed about it either. But if it's something like Tesla helping Elon commit crimes against humanity, then I'd sooner castrate myself than even take one for free. Not that cars are really art, but it's the first example that came to mind about giving bad people money.
