Honestly no there's no real order. Even the games if you played them 1 - 10 aren't in order chronologically lol.

There are three eras and think of which you want:

Bumper car era

One character top down action game era

Multiple character kind of standard but awesome action RPG era

I can't think of any others. I'm of the final opinion. I loved ys7, memories of celcetia, ys8 and now ys9.

I think solo action is fine. People LOVE oath in felghana but I got annoyed by it. Same with origin. I think there's another one? Ark of Napishtim? I thought these were okay

Ys 1 and 2 are bumper battles. The game calculates stuff and you bump into things to win. Never played them

My OWN opinion? Ys 8 is the best in the series and I think everyone should play it. That's not to say the rest are bad, just that 8 encompasses like everything that makes the others good into one package

EDIT: you can look up the chronological order of ys games but there's over fifty years of adol stories so they can put them literally anywhere and forever lol

One thing I noticed in later seasons is how useless Sam is. Boy, does he always get hit once fly into a bookshelf and lay down for the rest of a fight dazed. I don't remember what season it swapped to, but he's become a useless hunter that always just falls over in a second.

I'm on the beginning of season 14 and it is a struggle.

It did. Hero mode should be in every Zelda game moving forward. It fixed the biggest issues of both WW and TP. I actually saw the game over screen in wind waker for the first time in it. Taking double damage and no healing drops was a lot of fun. Bottles and potions were important and you couldn't be reckless

Absolutely yes. Definitely wish it wasn't rushed and we got a few more dungeons but overall I love it. Twilight princess is the last great Zelda game but wind waker is really something special

Yeah I'm still playing through it and it is a good game. I don't think it's superb and I don't think it's complete ass, but it is good. While the main missions are much more of a Souls design philosophy, it does lean into Nier a lot with a few large open areas and a city with side quests to get. And the music.

But the focus on parrying and aggressive play, respawning enemies on rest along with estus flasks, looping paths with shortcuts, it just screams Souls to me. I admittedly haven't beaten it so I don't know what else might come, but at least the first mission of Eden 7 is quite Soulsy. Hell, it even has an item that lets you revive once per rest similar to Sekiro.

It's like, Nier + Sekiro + Dark Souls, but is slightly worse than all of them? Well, the combat is better than Nier's imo which is a bit basic.

The main missions are indeed Soulslikes, why would it not be? Areas with looping paths and shortcuts to unlock, resting resets enemies. Combat similar to Sekiro.

Why is it not a Soulslike? Is Elden Ring not a Soulslike?

EDIT: Well I guess you answered this but I would still consider Stellar Blade a souls like. Only thing it doesn't have is a penalty for dying. But the main missions you go on are like Souls games. No map, looping paths, rest areas that respawn enemies, estus flasks.
