How hard is it to not panic and just float? Then once you got that down how much harder is it to kick/ move your arms?

Pretty hard. Even when I dont panic, I dont float. I just sink to the boat. I can float on my back sometimes, but most of the time, I just sink to the bottom

I personally go straight into blind panic attack mode the instant my head dips into the water

Also, this I dont like my head underwater. Especially my eyes and nose. If I have those goggles that covers both, Im a little better. That said, when my head goes under, I lose a lot of senses, like sight, smell, and hearing. And I dont very much like that. Those goggles at least let me keep sight, and I wont have to worry about water in my nose

I remember talking about this like a decade ago with a co-worker. We were talking about how many episodes a bunch of the had. I remember my grandma watching them all the time

There are probably a few people. But its probably rare that someone has seen them all. Especially if they stopped liking them at some point. And some probably died, where others may have been born years after the show started

I looked up General Hospital and it has 14k episodes that are 1 hour each. Which means it would take over a year and a half to watch them all if you never slept or did anything else >_> wtf

I remember when I was a lad, I used to rollerblade up and down the street all day sometimes. Just thinking about whatever. These days, I just walk up and down. (Sometimes with a pet). Maybe I should get rollerblades again. Plus, itd let me go faster without running since thats what my dog likes to do

As for Zelda remakes, Id be down for a WW port/remaster, but rather have the oracles games, like many other fans. Couldnt care less about TP, though. Weve had it for the last 3 systems excluding switch. It can go one system without a remake/remaster. Port is fine as long as it doesnt hinder other projects

It's also a little different with games than with other media. With other media, you can add translators' notes that explain weird idioms, cultural/historical references, or anything else that might not make sense to somebody who's unfamiliar with the original language. With games, though, there generally isn't really room to add such notes in, nor is there enough precedent for doing so that a game wouldn't be thought of as weird for slipping notes into a vacant bit of screen. That means translators have to make some calls about what will make sense staying faithful to the original text without additional information, versus changing it to something less faithful that won't be as confusing. And then there are cases where localizations actually improve the writing by changing it, but those aren't common.

I see the translator notes in manga and stuff all the time. Which is useful But it is weird when they change something core to the character just to try to make translations work

Some things do need to be changed to something notably different, like idioms that don't translate well. By and large, though, I'm in favour of keeping the core semantic content and not changing things like a character's gender because the translators are worried that it might offend people.

Basically this. I was counting things like idioms and stuff in with sentence structures. Basically, things that wont make sense in other languages

The whole subject of "What is good localization" has been debated to death.

It really comes down to the fact that localization is an artform in itself and there are many ways to do it. Sometimes poorly and sometimes not.

I don't think that direct translations are the way to go, but I also think that our own audiences are the ones who need to change if they can't handle something like transgenderism.

I dont think we need direct translations when it comes to sentence structures. That said, I dont think they should change it to something completely different

I played it for a little some time back. I also played and completed it a long time ago on the N64. The reason I didnt get as far when I played it recently was due to other games I was playing. Im trying to play too many at once. But whatever

Nice to hear that people are still enjoying the game. I played it a lot up until college.

Came here to post something that somehow came up in my reddit feed where a guy was complaining about a game where the DM made every player illiterate without telling the players, which I find hilarious.

Told them that literacy was uncommon until after medieval times or some shit.

I saw this one... I think it was a couple days ago. I was actually telling my DND party about that! Haha. The Wizard had been doing all the reading until they died. And now they have to have NPCs do the reading

The other part was that half of our characters were suppose to be working for the guy that we one-shot, but immediately forgot the mission as soon as we met the other half of the team. Until they accidentally completed it by getting everyone together Until we killed him after he attacked us

Probably any day other than Wednesday. Depending on how they do it. For us, when a holiday is on a Monday or Friday, we get the other day off as a family. For example, if a Holiday is on Monday, the Friday before is a Family day to make a 4 day weekend. And if its on a Tuesday or Thursday, we normally also get a day before of after to still give a 4 day weekend The only problematic day is Wednesday. If they just give us two extra days off, then Id love Wednesday holidays, but AFAIK, they dont They still usually give 2, though. And it can be a nice break up for us to work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 1 more day, then have the weekend off. But it also messes with our schedules and stuff

That said, we stopped him before being able to power up. Which would have made him near unstoppable. Its just the perfect scenario played out

And my character owns eve more now. Im was already one of the richest guys for assuming the identity of one of the richest guys. And now I own this guys stuff, as well I now own a bunch of stuff here

As long as the pizza itself isnt bad, cheese is fine. Its just that toppings make it better, so it doesnt make a ton of sense to order it alone. Its more of an inoffensive filler food for when you need to feed several people and you dont have time to worry about personal preferences.

To me, pizza kind of feels like a blank canvas food. Since there are many ways to change it up and make it taste completely different based on what you put on it Especially since some places let you change the sauce or type of cheese. You can make something completely different

Yeah. So people end up ordering a bunch of different pizzas. But people may notice the ones with topping have toppings they dont like, or want to avoid Whether its certain toppings they dont like, or meats they dont eat due to being a vegetarian

Very frequently it's because they want more than like two slices of [topping] pizza but don't want to feel like they are hogging it all so the get like two pepperoni slices and then a cheese. Cheese is also ordered in less quantity than something like pepperoni. So when a bunch of people pad their slice count with cheese slices, you run out quick.

It's extremely frustrating if you are a vegetarian and the cheese pizza is the only one you can eat of what's ordered. But it's gone by the time you get there.

This is also true. I know when Im eating pizza with friends, I try not to take too many slices depending on the pizza. If theres like 5 of us and two or three pizzas that are the same, its all good. But at bigger events, I feel weird sometimes because I dont want to eat all of one pizza, especially if someone only likes that kind

It makes sense. Especially when you consider that you technically can order a pizza without the cheese. Im not sure who would want to do that. But you could. Therefore, calling it cheese pizza means with the cheese

Not really. Just another way of asking for a pizza with no other toppings except cheese. Makes sense enough that tons of people use that phrase. And at many pizza places, and on the app, they also call it a cheese pizza

It is true that cheese is usually eaten first. But I dont think it necessarily because they like cheese the best. I think its because they are usually avoiding other toppings. At least, thats what I usually see or hear Thats not to say cheese isnt good. It is. But more often than not, when Im at like a party or something, cheese is usually gone first due to others avoiding certain toppings

I use to eat only cheese pizza when I was younger. But I was kind of a picky eater. These days, I usually do meats. All or some Dont get veggies, though. I eat those on their own. But I have tried some at different points of my life. They never make the pizza better to me, though

I remember liking it a lot I also remember I kept forgetting about the power you get. But did like using the power for that one boss.

As for renting, it wasnt a big deal. I rented the first few items while saving up to buy them. I couldnt imagine saving up enough to buy them early, though. I feel like it would be a lot of grinding.
