Blue_Popo 03/02/24 8:35:45 PM #60 | dancing_cactuar posted... Assuming canon events aren't just cope, I assume it's just an adaptation on a multiversal scale where Miles in 42 would have initially had to deal with that shit, but now that Miles in 1610 got bit things have been adjusted to compensate, much like how 1610 Miles probably would have been the next Prowler if he didn't get bit. I interpreted it as miles became prowler because spiderman didnt exist in that universe to keep the captain alive. I still hate multiverse but this is the best multiverse movie |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 12:27:48 PM #14 | Im not going to argue with raimi spidermam movies as they didnt click back then and still dont. I domt hate them and give them all the mercy 7/10. I dont see any of them as teenagers, never did. They are full grown ass men and women in a school setting. Tobey always looks like hes crying, regardless of when hes happy, angry or neutral. I know its their origims but all 3 villains are freak lab accidents. There are plus points to these movies but they dont sniff my top 10 I think vibranium on vibranium didnt work but the rest of it was good. Killmonger vs tchalla 1 was really good. I also give it credit for taking a lesser known setting and doing it well The avengers movies do stand on their own (minus endgame). They are enhanced by watching everything else. Not that im saying sales dictates quality but infinity war and endgame are 2 of the biggest movies ever but everyone that watched those didnt watch all 20 movies before them. People know they can jump in and have a blast Drax was a joke well before guardians 3 so I cant even fault 3 for his failings. I loved the consequences of animal planet, added to the evil of high evolutionary |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 11:20:06 AM #4 | Cephalopods posted... GotG 1 is the best of the 3 imo, but I did enjoy 3 a lot. My favorite of the individual MCU series by far; always felt they would stand on their own outside of the MCU and may even actually have been better had they been independent it. Guardians 3 is more emotional. Guardians 1 has a bad villain, guardians 3 has a great one. Guardians 1 did walk so guardians 3 could run but for me guardians 3 is better |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 11:14:55 AM #1 | 10. Xmen days of future past: I remember watching the 90s xmen show and while sentinels were massive, they were surprisingly soft. The color scheme also didnt help. These were scary fuckers more out of a horror movie, one of the better adaptations that go unnoticed. Also it mixed the old and new xmen cast well while giving wolverine a good starring role 9. Spiderman No Way Home: its become cool to hate on it and the reason for why things occurs is kind of silly but this movie made me appreciate all 3 live action spidermen more 8. Black Panther. A movie that caught me by surprise. The lead is good, the villain is amazing. The sci-fi aspect of Wakanda was well realized. If the final battle wasnt a ps3 quality cutscene this could go higher 7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The Guardians under James Gunn get a near perfect sendoff. Rocket has an emotional story. The movie is beautiful which is never discussed. Its weird that ant man quantumania fumbled Kang and this movie did Kang better a few months later in the high evolutionary 6. Spiderman Across the Spiderverse. Beautiful visuals that take advantage of what would be difficult to impossible to film in live action plus cgi. Gwen gets an expanded role which really hits. Family dynamic is great. Spot is a fun villain. I didnt like the goofy spiderman squad in the first one and this got rid of them 5. Captain America Civil War. I think this is the comic book movie with the best action. Tony and Steve just have such conflicting personalities with each other that the conflict works 4. The Dark Knight. Everyone knows what it is. Heath Ledger steals the show as the best Joker ever. 3. Thor Ragnarok: I didnt care for the thor movies or Thor in the Avengers movies. I had zero interest in this movie. Didnt even bother to click on the trailers. Watched it and it was a blast. This is my fun comfort movie. Its always on in my place as my backgroumd noise movie now as well. Great fights, great visuals, gave thor the update he needed. Thor needed loki, hulk to play with. Hela was a great villain 2. Avengers Endgame. I cant think of a better conclusion to 23ish movies. It referenced almost all of them well. 1. Avengers Infinity War. This movie did so much with Thanos. Every line he says is quotable and memorable. Up to this moment this may have been Strange and Thor's best iterations. Amazing fights and of course the snap |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 2:48:43 AM #40 | Prismsblade posted... It was alright, same as the first, although the plot twist later concerning the cause of the shattering didn't make much sense. Whats so special about spiderman that certain events in his life absolutely had to happen to prevent the collapse of the freaking multiverse? Not just this movie but other multiverse movies make it to easy to destroy a universe from earth. Mcu does this as well. Its dumb but i guess ive gotten used to it |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 2:35:34 AM #35 | Mcu holland lost quite a bit, his mentor and his aunt. Hes on par with garfield. Big losses plus alone I am so glad they went with Spot. He works so well in animated and the things he can do are interesting. Live action I feel he would be hard to adapt This should be the space sony operate in. I cant believe the studio that made this made madam web after this |

They did skip it but another spiderman had an origin movie within 5 years. I think an origin movie was a hard sell back then. Blue_Popo 03/02/24 2:08:17 AM #31 | Maybe i am not remembering correctly but it was stated that when someone that is a captain in aspidermans life dies, its a canon event. Seems like the closest thing for mcu peter is tony stark. Had an authority role in his life and the same dying position as the captain's of the others. Aunt may was his uncle ben/prowler/peter parker |
Topic | Which hero has the MCU dropped the ball on the most? |
Blue_Popo 03/02/24 2:01:01 AM #126 | Anyways Im not going to argue which spiderman is different but they need to be written differently. Tobey/andrew spiderman are the first marvels of their world. The first meta-human of any kind Mcu spiderman is in a world that has had many super powered being events. Hell his new york had 2 hulks fight, a robot invasion, and an alien invasion before he became a thing. Its just different circumstances. |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 1:58:49 AM #125 | Smashingpmkns posted... No Way Home relied way too much on nostalgia and the story sucked. The mcu Spider-Man was outshined by every other character in the movie. It was a mess lol plus it looked like shit No he was not. This is a lie. Tobey looked like he was collecting a pay cheque and you can tell his limited emotional range from this movie. Now andrew killed it and this is coming from someone who doesnt care for his spidey movies. Green giblin was limited to "heuhueheue im eviiiil. Bet u cant kill me peter" which was well acted but only 10 mimutes. Dr strange was written to be an idiot and hurt his character overall Electro got a good makeover but was still just jaime fox Doctor octopus was fun but sadly not a villain long enough. |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 1:56:01 AM #26 | Kradek posted... It's pretty awesome, yeah. I agree on that moment especially and it stuck with me. This movie really does take advantage of animated to do stuff that is difficult or impossible in live action. That was a stand out scene for me. Gwen really impressed me in this movie, she definitely got more spotlight. Hailee is such a beast. She was amazing in hawkeye and this (that and shes gorgeous). Side note: was the captain who dies in mcu spiderman world iron man? Hes the closest thing |

Blue_Popo 03/02/24 12:27:41 AM #88 | Anyone choosing people like black widow or thor or shang chi is silly These characters had next to no fans pre mcu and are now A listers due to the mcu. You may not like certain aspects but dropped the ball does not apply |

He was way too powerful at the time of his introduction compared to the rest of the heroes, so every time there was a fight they had to come up with some reason he couldn't take part. Shang chi is c list and thats generous The answer will always be hulk and i guess rights issues fucked him the most. Topic | Just watched Spiderman Across the Spiderverse and its a masterpiece (SPOILERS) |
Blue_Popo 03/01/24 9:50:49 PM #1 | This is coming from someone who wasn't even big on into the spiderverse and thought it was one of the more overrated movies. I cant even explain why it didnt resonate with me outside of the miles/prowler dynamic. The darker tone helps. I feel like there isnt one moment of filler. Spot works in a fun way. Miles family dynamic is the best of any spiderman. So many great callbacks to other spiderman moments. Gwens backstory was amazing. As a man of indian ethnicity it was cool seeing that part and I had an uncle who was literally Captain Singh, looks to the rank to name aha so that worked for me. I think this tops no way home as my favorite spiderman movie (I get it, no way home was popular so its cool to hate on it now). Im complely amazed by this. The ending was as good as cliffhangers get. Initial reaction is 10/10. Im thinking its my runner up animated goat movie next to lion king Up until today i wanted disney to take the spiderman movie license back from sony....now i just want them to take the live action license back lol. Sony isnt making a live action spiderman movie as good as marvel does anymore and disney isnt making an animated movie like this |

The first Fantastic Beasts gave a sense of wonder and made the wizarding world feel like a world. The plot wasn't great, but it was sufficient for the kind of film that it was. I thought the magic was missing and yhe hogwarts setting gave life to the world. As for the mcu, I think the biggest flaw has to be not having team up movies/shows to mask the lesser titles like the avengers movies did |
