I've had to do it a few times over the past couple months as I've had to walk to the office to pick up/drop off SBCs for a client. 1.5m each way. Usually 20-25 minutes per way.

Its just weird.
I worked in a grocery store for years. While I was posting on PotD daily.
I event went to multiple universities and commuted to multiple jobs over that time. I'm not Lokarin who's afraid to go outside or whatever.
Past few years I've been WFH but that's really not my choice when the pay is amazing and the office has 6 cubicles.

I quit before and the cravings went away after like 3-4 weeks, but then I started drinking them on occasion thinking I was good and fell back into the habit

I drank so much soda that I used to get heart palpitations from it.
Basically every day I am reminded of how I could be drinking soda. It was a coping mechanism for me. It allowed me to get through college and early in my career. I also did it to unwind after work.

I have blocked ads on every device I have ever had since 2006.
You have zero excuse.

Yea I had a thumbnail fix that I created myself, but it seems to have disappeared through installs. The current thumbnails are a problem and I really need to fix them.

I couldn't give a crap about "content creators". I watch videos. I watch a lot of videos. Probably 12+ hours a day of Youtube.

• I use Blocktube on desktop to filter out all videos that are older than a week old.
• I use SponsorBlock to block all ads on desktop.
• I use uBlock Origin to block all ads everywhere.
• I use ReVanced on Mobile to get sponsor block + ad block on my phone.
• I use desktop notifications to be notified for certain Youtube channels.

I experience no issues. Nobody in this thread has expressed any issues that I can see. Just PEBCAK. I would suggest installing the above plugins and learning how to use them. I do not experience being unsubscribed from channels. I do not experience anti-adblock issues.

I don't think any game with skill based matchmaking is worth mental cycles.

That approach only works if you already know they exist to search for them. For discovering them in the first place, you need somebody to promote them, whether that's in a game show like this, a third-party journalist bringing attention to them (often as part of their coverage of game shows like this), some algorithm somewhere deciding to show it to you (usually because people with similar advertising profiles to yours have shown interest in the previous two options), or word of mouth advertising from peers (who will themselves have learned of it through one of the three previous routes).

I guess my point is that I did not even know E3 was going on. Only thing that hit my radar was the FFT remake which I apparently learned about minutes after its reveal. Gaming is whatever these days, it's not worth being super invested in it when you can buy a game when it;s 50% off 6 months after its release.

Whenever my phone dies I'll just buy whatever new Pixel phone that costs in the $200-$300 range.

Exact opposite experience. I barely have free time anymore. Boss slacking me on Sunday with customer questions, SE constantly asking me to add features to the product bypassing my boss, working 12+ hour days being the norm. If you want to quiet quit you won't have long term job security.

We're interviewing right now and everyone who we've interviewed is just awful. No real programming experience. Can't talk to anything they've done at other companies, lots of "managing" on resumes. Basically a lot of fakers.

The only game I am looking forward to is the FFT Remake.

Its just gotten very derivative since I walked away. I searched for one time and then got a nonstop flood of it from very low quality Vtubers who make the same scratching noises for 1-2 hours every day. Had to put it on my Blocktube banned words list.

There is zero parasocial aspect to ASMR for me. I recently got back into it, and I listen to only Japanese channels and its only very specific triggers (I hate, hate, hate ear cleaning).

Yea and they're already on World 3. Had to step away for a bit but this is a pretty strong party with Time Mage + Bard.

Generally just a very fun way to play the game as long as you don't get Zerker. I recommend doing a normal run at least one with no obligation to finish it.

More or less what it is. You remember correctly.
I don't talk about it because there's not much to talk about. Most days I'm fairly content saving my money, some days I'm not.
If I wanted to get out I have avenues to get out. For example those stocks I mentioned are 100% in my control. Nothing really stopping me from taking $20-$30k out and walking besides the whole fact I don't want to.

I watch them because I want to see if they swallow or not.

Today was pretty miserable. I'd love it if AI could magically generate me the DTS/DTI files for this SoC I am working on. I can build the kernel just fine, but I don't have the correct device tree for the board a customer wants our kernel on and they don't have it either because they got it from some Chinese company.

Its all supercut to avoid the swallowing sections.

Yea our company policy is that it's a security risk to use it like other people do. No AI coding assistance because it will potentially leak our IP.

Most of the time I use it as a more reliable google. If I need to look up how to code something, I usually rely on API documentation or Github search to find code snippets for whatever problems I can't solve by just reading the API documentation (Usually I will want to reference the linux kernel source code to understand how something works). I don't typically need an AI to do my job for me (write code) because I've been doing it long enough and I want to (or need to depending on how you look at it) write functions a specific way.

I did recently use AI to generate functions to convert utf16 to utf8 (and vice versa) because I don't see anything novel with that. I did however completely rewrite those functions as they didn't fit the style guides that I adhere to. I just don't see the need of doing that very often when the operating system or language frequently provides the necessary functions (this needed to be OS agnostic).
