Trump has made sure, more than anyone, by his constant violation of gag orders and attempts at intimidating jurors, that he doesn't deserve one.

That doesn't show that he shouldn't get a fair trial though. It shows that he needs to actually be held accountable when he violates rules. He, like literally everyone else ever, deserves a fair trial. What he is getting instead is virtually free reign to say and do things that normal people would not be able to get away with. He has shown that he never deserves the benefit of doubt when it comes to his actions. Simply stopping him from doing things that anyone else would be jailed for doing would be sufficient without violating anyone's rights.

tl;dr: He deserves to be treated fairly and for his rights to not be violated. But his actions would make said fairness be harsh as fuck. A bed of his own making that he needs to be made to lay in.

I don't know, but I sincerely doubt that. They wouldn't want a Bench Trial because there are less people to intimidate there. And less delays. And less chances to get a MAGA on the jury. And last but certainly not least, they want this judge removed. I don't see you asking for a judge to be removed and then asking for the judge to sit alone in judgement of you, waiving your right to a jury. I also doubt this judge would deny such a motion.

The only thing I'm currently involved in here is the Trump Trials topics. After that...I don't know. I like sports. I like to talk about Boxing, UFC, Track & Field, NBA, WNBA, NFL, etc... But I tend to not get too involved in the topics here, because I like the actual sports. They are enjoyable to watch. I have no desire to have First Take-like arguments about any subject at all, but certainly not about sports in general. I don't want to fight, argue, insult, etc over any athlete or league.

But the end is closer than I imagined it would be.

Trump is never ever going to go to 'jail'. for one thing, jail is where you go for minor crimes while you wait to see a judge. prison is another thing entirely.

Technically, if your sentence is a year or less, you can be sentenced to jail. You can have a felony conviction with a 1 year sentence and be sent to Rikers.

Not saying that will happen here, but it has happened before and is possible.

The alleged use of campaign funds is what makes this a felony. That would be the crime outside of fraud that elevated this from a misdemeanor to a felony, in the state of New York.

But this is indeed a trial about falsifying business records. That's the actual crime. Again, we all pretty much know why he did it. But that's motive, not the crime itself.

The burying of the story is not actually a crime. Catch and Kill is not illegal. And it's not Election Interference to do so. The actual crime here was how he went about it. That's the illegal part.
